Essentia Health, a leader and primary source for both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation for children and their families.
Polinsky Medical Rehabilitation Center has a decades long tradition of providing exceptional services to children with neurodevelopmental disorders, traumatic brain injury, and neuromuscular disorders.
Our team is composed of over 30 clinicians in occupational, physical, speech, and psychological therapies.
The psychologists and social workers are an integral part of the team, with the services provided by our child physiatrist augmented by neurology, pediatrics, family medicine, and specialists as needed.
We run multiple specialty clinics and provide a vibrant place to work and treat children.
Psychologists provide diagnostic interviews and testing to clarify questions from the other members of the team, as well as referrals from the wider medical community, so that clinicians will have clarity of the strengths of the child and family so that therapies will be optimized.
In addition to diagnostic clarification and treatment consultation, they are also actively treating children and families in therapy. They have the freedom to conduct therapy in a manner consistent with their knowledge and experience, and use evidence-based therapies, such as PCIT, when indicated.
There is also opportunity to teach, lecture, and conduct independent research.
Education and/or years experience required:
A doctoral degree in psychology from a regionally accredited university
Two years of supervised clinical experience in psychological health services of which at least one year is post-doctoral and one year (may be the post-doctoral year) is in an organized psychological health service training program
Licensure/Certifications required:
Must be a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Minnesota, or in the state in which Essentia practice is located.

Ecumen Lakeshore consists of 140 independent living and assisted living rental apartment homes as well as 60 short stay rehab beds, 20 additional residences for seniors requiring memory care services and is located in Duluth, Minnesota. Responsibilities This position supervises and directs the program and staff of the rehabilitation/therapy department. It is responsible for providing and directing therapy services (e.g. PT, OT, SLP) to patients, including assessment, treatment, program planning and implementation, related documentation, and communication, within professional practices and ethical standards. Essential job responsibilities include: Plans and directs all rehabilitation/therapy services to assure efficient departmental operations. Sets program development goals, coordinates treatment activity between disciplines and team members, and conducts ongoing evaluation of effectiveness.Provides professional support services to patients and initiates referrals when appropriate and in accordance with the rehabilitation/therapy department procedures.Supervisors and directs all therapists in the implementation of the treatment plan. Determines staffing needs and schedules coverage to assure sufficient staff to meet patient needs.Monitors team members' competency, licenses/certifications, and memberships in applicable professional organizations; coordinates the development of team members through structured activities.Ensures that all patient care activities are performed according to company policies and procedures and all applicable state and federal laws and regulatory agencies.Ensures all services logs are completed in a timely manner, and monitors timely filing and follow-up on Medicare/Insurance claims and reviews.Communicates and demonstrates a professional image/attitude for patients, families, clients, co-workers and others.Manages and maintains individual license/certification renewals and when applicable other professional certifications.Qualifications Rehab and Therapy Director Minimum Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Audiology, Speech Language Pathology or related field * 3+ years of direct experience in the rehabilitation/therapy field * Previous experience working as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Therapist * Current license, state certification, or registered as a Therapist in good standing * Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats * Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations including able to work irregular hours, attend meetings and special events. * Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations Preferred Qualifications: * Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree * Previous experience in home health, hospice or senior care Equal Opportunity Employer Ecumen is an equal opportunity employer.
