The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science is aggressively expanding our clinical and academic footprint in the metro-Atlanta area as part of our strategic plan. We are looking for enthusiastic faculty to and contribute to the department's education, research, clinical care, and community service missions.

Our department is part of the Brain Health Center, a collaborative five-specialty unit that offers an enriched research environment as well as academic training opportunities in graduate, undergraduate, and professional education. Faculty members have opportunities for clinical, research, and academic collaboration with other Brain Health faculty from Neurology, Neurosurgery, Rehabilitation Medicine, and Sleep Medicine.

We are accepting applications for the position of Licensed Psychologist with a specialization in adult behavioral intervention of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The successful candidate will serve as the lead clinician of Adult Behavior Intervention Programs to provide supervision and leadership of the clinical, educational, and research operations of adult intervention clinical programs at the Emory Autism Center including the myLIFETM Adult Engagement Social Group Program and the myLIFETM on Campus summer transition program. Also provide and supervise others in individual and family behavior support and/or counseling services.

Adult behavioral and psychological assessment and treatment recommendations may also be provided. Experience and expertise in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) with the use of Positive Behavior Support (PBS) for developing communication, social, engagement, vocational, adaptive, self-determination, and learning skills among adults, and inclusion in community-based settings with same-age peers are important foundational approaches expected. Program documentation, evaluation, and dissemination will be an important aspect of this academic clinical work. Teaching and supervision of professional trainees, providing individual and caregiver support programs, facilitating community inclusion, and contributing to evidence-based research are expected as part of the position.

The candidate must be a doctoral-level Psychologist (PhD/PsyD) and have a current license (or be eligible) to practice Psychology by the GA State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. An active credential as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is not required, but preferred.

The candidate must have an outstanding reputation in the field with potential to lead the development of excellent clinical programs in coordination with the Emory Autism Center leadership team and staff. The candidate must have the ability to successfully work in a team environment and to communicate effectively. Both clinical service and evaluation research and scholarly activities of seeking grants, presenting to professional audiences, and publishing findings are expected to meet the requirements of Emory Faculty in the area of service, teaching, and scholarship.

The candidate must have academic qualifications commensurate with an appointment at or above the level of Assistant Professor. Academic Rank at Emory University School of Medicine will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievements.

Summary: This Full time Licensed Clinical Behavioral Health Professional will work with our Employer Health Clinic, located onsite at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Monday through Friday from 7am-4pm. Essential Functions: * Provides psychotherapy or counseling to individuals and groups * Interviews clients to gather and interpret social, personal, environmental, and health information. * Evaluate and treat problems within their scope of practice. * Coordinates and plans programs and activities to meet a member's social and emotional needs. * Facilitate cognitive, affective, and behavioral health cases, including short term crisis resolution and referrals to community resources. * Establish and maintain a relationship of mutual respect, acceptance, and trust. * Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment services provided to the client. * Identify appropriate resources and assessment instruments, as needed. * Document findings in client records according to established protocol. * Keep case load as required and ensures case documentation is up-to-date and reflective of services. * Provide individual clinical counseling * May be require other duties as assigned. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Education: * Master's in social work, counseling, psychology, or equivalent field of study. * Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Clinical Psychologist in state of position. Experience: * 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. * Must have prior field counseling experience in the treatment of behavioral mental health including depression, mood disorders, alcoholism and drug dependency, family counseling, marital relationship, grief, loss, etc. Knowledge and Skills: * Must possess ability to interact and consult with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to include primary care providers, community providers and services as needed. * Must have experience with patient referral management and knowledge of available referral resources. * Must possess diagnostic assessment and referral skills (advanced clinical training at master's degree level) and skills to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans, specifically for persons with behavioral or mental health concerns (specialized training and experience). * Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish a good rapport with all levels of the organization, identify problems and motivate individuals to take necessary action; professional practice skills reflecting adherence to the highest ethical standards. * Must have training and education in crisis management, abuse reporting, and cultural competence to meet the diverse needs of the population served in a treatment setting. * Must have training on the identification, prevention and treatment of suicidal behaviors. * Knowledge of Internet navigation, spreadsheets and word processing software. * Knowledge of electronic medical record utilization for documentation purposes. * Knowledge and respect of confidentiality and HIPPA laws. * Strong written and oral communication skills required to effectively communicate with a broad range of individuals. * Ability to prioritize all aspects of the job is a key to success. * Ability to provide group, individual, and family counseling sessions. * Strong problem-solving skills required. * Must display professionalism and leadership qualities. * Flexibility in response to urgent psychosocial situations.
