Summary:OPEN UNTIL FILLED. We operate an ambulatory medical clinic located on the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation, partially funded by the Indian Health Service.
The clinic is solely owned and operated by the Hoopa Valley Tribe. We are a Joint Commission accredited ambulatory clinic and behavioral health unit (passed the survey in 2021), with our Patient Centered Medical Home accreditation. Our primary programs and services consist of outpatient medical, dental, pharmacy, outreach services, senior nutrition, ambulance service, a grant funded diabetes department, and behavioral health unit (which includes mental health and substance abuse). Hoopa is located on the beautiful Trinity River in Northern California.
Hoopa is a small community of approximately 4,500 residents: primarily Native American. Our clinic services are open to the public.
Duties:Duties • Screen and interview patients to include performing bio-psychosocial evaluations. • Provide individual and /or group psychological counseling utilizing a variety of treatment modalities to include brief problem-focused psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy and client-centered therapy. • Select, approve, and document treatment processes, plans, and procedures. • Assess and provide crisis intervention for individuals with complex behavioral health conditions and problems. • Administer and interpret appropriate psychological tests.
Qualifications:EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: • Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. • Licensed professional as a Psychologist in the State of California with verifiable qualifications through the state licensing board and/or online registry. • Three to Five years work experience in a behavioral health setting. • Experience or interest in depression, anxiety, abuse and PTSD. • Experience with dual diagnosis issues with Native American clients and substance abuse assessments and treatment options. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: • Licensure by the State of California as a Psychologist. • CPR
