Job Description/Summary: Provide psychological services including the application of psychological principles, methods and procedures of understanding, predicting, and influencing behavior, such as the principles pertaining to learning, perception, motivation, emotions, and interpersonal relationships; methods and procedures of interviewing, counseling, psychotherapy, behavior modification; and administering, and interpreting tests of mental abilities, aptitudes, interests, attitudes, personality characteristics, emotions, and motivations.

The application of these principles and methods includes, but is not restricted to: diagnosis, prevention, treatment and amelioration of psychological problems and emotional and mental disorders of children and families Position Requirements Minimum Education: Doctorate degree in psychology, educational psychology or in education with the field of specialization in counseling psychology or educational psychology. Minimum Experience:

Must have at least seven (7) years of experience providing a full range of psychological assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic services in hospital, clinical or community based settings.# Must have completed California Board of Psychology supervisory requirements.# Must have and document an additional two (20 years of training, experience, or certification working with specific clinical populations (e.g. ADHD, Autism, PTSD), OR must have experience with program development and administration, continuous quality assurance and improvement, fiscal sustainability, and monitoring and evaluating treatment outcomes, OR, must have a significant record of clinical research, which may include funded grants and publications. This position will work for the Child and Adolescent Gender Clinic.# Therefore, prior experience working for Child and Adolescent Gender Clinic preferred.


License Required:


Licensed as a Psychologist with the California State Board of Psychology Medical Staff Membership Required: Required to practice at BCHO.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:# Normal and atypical child development.# Child, adult, and family assessment. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary setting with a diverse group of professional and support staff.# Ability to work under pressure and to respond effectively to crises.


Specialty areas include:


Inpatient Consultation, Family therapy, Hypnosis, Biofeedback, Neuropsychological Assessment, Infant Mental Health Technical Knowledge: Prior experience with electronic medical records preferred.


Physical Requirements:
