the Psychologist III supervises psychology staff, psychology interns, and coordinates/manages projects to which they have been assigned. In addition, he/she provides service to clients as a member of the evaluation program where participation may include direct service, clinical supervision, or research. . The psychologist may provide staff consultation and training for graduate social work interns. The psychologist III has the responsibility for administrative duties assigned by the Director.

ResponsibilitiesFulfills all of the responsibilities and duties of a clinical or counseling psychologist.Provides treatment to clients including diagnostic interview and therapy through individual, group, family, or marital treatment. In addition, collaborates with public agencies to facilitate achievement of goals related to the treatment plan.Maintains client activity at the projected level set by administrative staff and maintains the medical record for each client which includes diagnostic interview note, ongoing contact notes, MHP treatment plan, and discharge note.Supervises and conducts performance evaluations for psychology staff/graduate students through regular meetings and review of documentation to address clinical practice, professional development, productivity, documentation compliance, and time management.Coordinates/manages clinics or projects to which they have been assigned.Assists the Director and assumes leadership with the development of innovative programs, training, and research initiatives and assists in securing funding, grants, as needed.Responsible for administrative oversight and supervision of staff providing clinical services and clinic coordination.Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Must possess a Ph.D. or Psy.D. with emphasis in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.

  • Must be a licensed psychologist in the state of Maryland.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Five (5) years' experience in providing psychological evaluation, psychotherapy, and supervision.

  • APA approved internship as well as one year supervised experience post doc

  • Some management experience preferred

The Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress at Kennedy Krieger Institute has been operating for over 30 years and has received national recognition. The Social Worker II is a primary therapist to children and families who have been exposed to abuse, neglect and violence. The Social Worker II utilizes the information gained by the interdisciplinary evaluation services in the development and implementation of a treatment plan for the child and his/her families. Several of the children and families will be Spanish speaking and the social worker will be expected to communicate with them in Spanish. Join a team that is truly making a difference! Responsibilities 1. Provides weekly individual, family or group, psychotherapy services to children and their families, some of whom will be Spanish speaking.2. Attends interdisciplinary staffing to discuss and integrate the evaluation information and to develop a comprehensive treatment plan responding to the psychological and social needs of the client/family.3. Collaborates with the referring agency, the local Department of Social Services, to assist them in utilizing the evaluation/treatment services in the development of the agency service plan for the child and the family.4. Collaborates with the school system to assure that the children are receiving appropriate educational services if indicated.5. Responds to the juvenile court system through written or oral progress reports when such is required in the juvenile court's development of a plan for the child and family.6. Participates in peer consultation groups and/or individual supervision for review of clinical work.7. Attends in-service clinical training programs, treatment planning meeting, and necessary administrative meetings.8. Maintains client activity at the projected level set by the administrative staff.9. Maintains the medical record for each client seen which includes a treatment plan and diagnostic interview at the initiation of therapy, weekly progress notes, periodic reviews, and termination summary.10. May participate in the field instruction program and supervise social work trainees when interest and capacity is demonstrated and may participate in community advocacy/educational groups related to the needs of foster care children and their families. Qualifications EDUCATION: * Masters Degree from an accredited School of Social Work required. * Must be licensed in the State of Maryland by the Board of Social Work Examiners, Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW). EXPERIENCE: * Some experience related to providing services to children in the child welfare population with developmental and emotional disturbance preferred. * Bilingual in English and [Spanish] with a proficiency level that meets the Institutes minimum standards – [Advanced Mid for bilingual clinicians]. Able to speak [Spanish] fluently with ease and confidence in a variety of topics related to work, home, leisure activities, as well as events of current, public or personal interest or individual relevance.
