Eastern State Hospital (ESH), located in Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with an emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) system, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

ESH invites applications for the position of a NGRI PSYCHOLOGIST (Psychologist II).

This position is responsible for providing comprehensive treatment to patients adjudicated NGRI, including comprehensive risk assessment and risk management strategies as well as necessary forensic report writing for progression through the graduated privileging process. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to conducting initial and ongoing psychological assessments, providing individual treatment sessions to address relevant risk management issues and treatment issues, treatment planning through core membership on a treatment team, psychotherapy groups, as well as behavioral consultation and program development as needed, and providing supervision and training for Psychology students (intern and practicum).

Minimum Qualifications

Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology is required.

License eligibility as a Clinical Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required.

Additional Considerations

Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia is preferred.

Forensic training through the Institute of Law, Psychiatry, and Public Policy (ILPPP) is preferred.
