Overview

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Psychologist I, Licensed provides mental health evaluation and treatment for children, adolescents, and families in the department or division's area of focus.

Provides psychological/developmental assessments as needed. May provide individual and group supervision to pre- and postdoctoral psychology trainees. Teaching duties include didactic presentations; community presentations; and participation in staff/supervisor meetings at which teaching & training programs are developed.

Responsible for assessment, treatment planning and providing psychotherapy to a defined caseload of patients and their families. The licensed psychologist will complete 24 hours per week of billed services that will consist of a monthly intake, psychotherapy and psychodiagnostic assessment. Expected caseload is a minimum of 20 clients.

Increasing the number of initial intake assessments to meet State and County requirements for access to mental health services within 10 business days of request for service. Training in providing evidence-based treatments and parent management training to parents. Ability to conceptualize needs of case based on diagnosis, developmental level and usual mental health care.

Proactive ability to complete required outcome measures on time and to follow documentation requirements for these measures. Timely documentation of progress notes within 24 hours. Ideal candidates will be self-starting with experience meeting defined clinical expectations, flexibility in changing clinical environment, ability to collaborate with different disciplines in providing care, ability to work in a team environment.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: Supervised professional experience providing therapy to a pediatric psychology population is required.

Previous consultation and liaison experience within a medical setting is strongly preferred. Knowledge of the various psychosocial aspects of commonly referred medical conditions is strongly preferred.

Experience supervising trainees is preferred.

Experience conducting psychological and developmental assessments is preferred. Training in evidence-based psychological treatments and experience working with children with developmental disabilities highly preferred.

Experience working with children who have developmental disabilities is desirable. Bicultural and/or Bilingual abilities (Armenian, Cambodian, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese) preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certification: Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D., in School, Counseling, or Clinical Psychology; prefer education from an APA-accredited program.

License in psychology in California. BLS Certification from the American Heart Association required.

Pay Scale Information

$94,224.00-$169,728.00

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
