Psychologist is responsible for providing psychology services consistent with accepted practices, training, and accreditation standards.

Under limited direction, evaluates and provides psychological diagnosis of patients. Conducts initial interview, evaluates, diagnoses, and develops treatment plans for patients.

Administers and interprets psychological and neuropsychological tests. Writes reports on the outcome of such tests. Provides psychological treatment and psychotherapy to patients and their families.

Designs behavioral management treatment programs to be carried out by other staff. Writes progress notes and summaries of treatment. Participates in chart round meetings to discuss patients' psychological, neuropsychological, psychosocial and related behavioral health issues with other member of the treatment team.

Attends various conferences and meetings. Plans research projects, writes grant proposals, conducts research and prepares and presents research findings to interested parties including staff, professional organizations, publications, the community, and so forth. May oversee and/or guide the work of lower level Psychologist and support personnel.

Qualified candidates will have obtained a PhD from a clinical psychology training program and completed an APA

  • Approved internship specializing in clinical child or pediatric psychology.

  • individual will also have completed a fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology and be board certified or eligible for board certification in clinical neuropsychology.

  • Experience with children/adolescents with neurovascular diseases is preferred; experience with other medical populations is highly desirable.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a strong foundation of general clinical skills in evaluating and treating children and adolescents with a range of complex medical conditions.

  • Completion of a doctoral degree from an APA/CPA-accredited program, an APA/CPA-accredited pre-doctoral internship program, and a formal two-year post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology are required.

Certifications:

Required: Licensed Psychologist, eligible in Michigan

Preferred: Board Certified in Clinical Neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology
