Salary Range: $36,155.00 - $52,425.00

Summary

The Psychological Evaluator is responsible for performing psychological evaluations and analyzing behavior of clients under the direct supervision of a licensed psychologist. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

Functions

Performs psychological evaluation of clients by selecting, administering, scoring, and interpreting individual tests, to assess intellectual and psychological functioning of clients. Conducts individual, group, and family treatment sessions.

Prepares written psychological evaluation reports, assessing and summarizing observation of client behavior. Analyzes client records and behavior incident reports, interviews staff, observes client to determine patterns of behavior, and prepares narrative summaries of client behavior. Provides on-going consultation to staff concerning client behavior and recommends procedures for use with clients.

Plans, develops, and conducts training sessions for faculty on practical psychological issues and relevant theory. Observes client behavior and consults with staff on training/behavioral procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of psychological theories and the principles of human behavior. Knowledge of psychological testing procedures and evaluation methods.

Ability to administer and evaluate diagnostic tests. Ability to observe clients and interpret behavior patterns. Ability to prepare written reports assessing behavior. Ability to plan, develop, and conduct practical and theoretical psychological training sessions.

Minimum Qualifications

The formal education equivalent of a master's degree in psychology, educational psychology, or counseling.
