Positions within this job family are assigned responsibilities for performing professional work in the administration and interpretation of psychological tests and providing counseling and psychological services in a state agency, institution, mental health facility, clinic or guidance program.


The Psychological Clinician job family consists of five levels which are distinguished by the level of complexity of specific job assignments, the extent of responsibility assigned for specific tasks, the level of expertise required for completion of the assigned work and the responsibility assigned for providing leadership to others.

Level I:

This is the basic level of this job family where incumbents are performing beginning level professional work in a training status and under close supervision. At this level incumbents will not be involved in the interpretation of psychological tests, assigning diagnoses, or the supervision or training of others.


Level I:

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a master's degree in psychology, counseling, human relations, clinical/direct practice social work, or a closely related field which must have included one semester of at least three hundred hours of applied clinical practicum in psychology or counseling.

VIEW JOBS 8/17/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-11-15T00:00 POSITION INFORMATION: As part of the Educare Implementation Study, this position will administer child assessments to young children birth through age 4, and will conduct classroom observations at Educare sites. This position will assist the Project Director and Assistant Project Director in implementing all project-specific duties. Occasionally, may conduct literature searches and technical research, analyze data, and prepare reports. Is an active member of the ECEI, participating on vertical teams and in campus activities. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: Data Collection. Collects various forms of data pertaining to the research project or projects. Develops expertise in a variety of assessment and observation tools, for both children and early childhood programs. Maintains reliability on all assessment and observation tools. Record Keeping. Keeps record of information obtained during data collection, which may include a database of information, hard files, etc. Scores assessments, enters data, proofs and checks data entry. Follows standard and project protocols for data entry, scoring and checking. Collaboration. Collaborates with project staff, ECEI staff, early childhood faculty, program staff, and other program partners or researchers as needed. Participates on vertical team or teams. Works closely with Project Director and ECEI Leadership Team to manage time and work load. Report Preparation. May assist with preparation of various reports containing descriptive, analytical, and evaluative content that may be submitted for publication. Literature Research. May conduct literature searches and reviews. Data Analysis. May conduct preliminary analyses of data. Interpret, draws conclusion, and discuss with Project Director or Principal Investigator. Material Presentation. May present research material to fellow researchers, supervisors, Leadership Team, and outside agencies/partners as needed. As Needed. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood, Psychology or related field. Experience: At least one year of research, early childhood or social service background required. Ability to Travel: Must be able to travel locally and statewide when needed, occasionally overnight.
