The Psychiatry faculty member is a non-tenured position responsible for osteopathic medical education in pre-doctoral didactic and/or clinical educational programs. Seeking an individual who is interested in teaching across all four years of the medical school curriculum. Experience teaching and working with students on rotations is a plus.

This position participates and assists the Department Chair and colleagues in the planning, directing and implementation of college programs, policies and procedures, and assists in the development and teaching of curricula which integrates the different specialty areas in team-based, large and small group learning environments. Typical responsibilities for this position may include some or all of the following:

  • teaching didactic preclinical and/or course material for years 1-4, which may include time in the classroom, clinical sites, laboratory, or telecommunications; supervising or teaching clinical internships or programs
  • advising and mentoring students
  • research to create and add to knowledge in a field, including the advancement of new theories and principles
  • serving the academic mission of the Department and using academic professional expertise to serve your profession and the community

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A team player who values collaboration, mutual support and team cohesion
  • Licensed as a D.O. or M.D.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based clinical practice skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience in an academic setting
  • Knowledge of instructional technologies, active learning modalities, adult learning evaluation and assessment
  • Experience with curricular and instructional design and training or experience in educational theory and/or evaluation
  • Experience using innovative teaching methods which might include team-based learning, flipped classroom, problem-based learning, distance learning, interactive large group presentation, audience response systems, curriculum delivery systems (e.g. Blackboard), and proficiency in exam item writing (USMLE and/or COMLEX-style)

VIEW JOBS 1/20/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-04-20T00:00 <p>The ICOM Anatomy Department is looking for applications towards a full-time, 12-month position responsible for the education in pre-clinical didactic and active learning educational programs at ICOM. The primary responsibilities include teaching cadaver dissection in the gross anatomy laboratory with potential teaching in anatomy, pathology, histology, and physiology in large and small group learning environments.
