We are looking for a dedicated and energetic psychiatrist to join our dynamic team! An excellent opportunity for an experienced motivated professional interested in joining a team dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our patients and their families. This position reports to the Medical Director. OhioGuidestone offers behavioral health services for children, adolescents, adults and seniors; including mental health, chemical dependency and specialty programs.
Completes Psychiatric assessment and evaluation of clients.
Evaluates clients through conversations, interviews, and observations.
Administers clients tests or request testing and lab work; analyze patient data and results.
Diagnoses clients with correct psychological, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
Collaborates with client's physicians and other medical staff to determine treatment.
Sets patient goals and discuss treatment plans.
Establishes timelines, tasks, and medical needs of clients.
Collaborates with the ACT team to provide wrap-around services to clients.
Analyzes the best medications or therapy to help clients reach goals.
Prescribes medications and monitors patient intake.
Documents client records and progress, including symptoms, medications, and treatments.
Counsels clients and listens to their reactions to treatment.
Provides clients with emotional tools and methods for recovery.
Educates clients, client families, significant others, and relevant parties of patient progress, treatment, and future goals.
Conducts research to better serve clients.
Reviews and approves individualized service plans and other needed assessment forms.
Provides emergency psychiatric services, including emergency coverage as needed 24 hours a day on call.
Consults with individual program directors and staff on clients, programs and services at the various sites.
Maintains reliable attendance.
Exhibits positivity, flexibility and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.
Demonstrates positive leadership, promote a team-based work environment and present the Agency in the most positive light with all internal and external contacts.
Must maintain regular and reliable attendance to the satisfaction of management
Must be able to operate a computer and other position related technologies
Must be able to verbally exchange information in a confidential manner with employees, clients, students, participants, and/or families in various settings
Must be available for crisis management by phone as needed
Must be able to work flexible hours as needed
Must be able to clearly and confidentially communicate with OhioGuidestone employees, clients, students, participants, and other stakeholders
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
Must be able to access work locations and, as necessary, client, student, or participant homes which may include ascending/descending stairs
Must be able to stoop, stand, walk, bend, and stay upright to perform work
Must be able to visually read written and digital information
Must be able to visually determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned and/or to make general observations of facilities or structures
Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication
Must be able to hear clients, students, or participants, co-workers, and supervisors at normal speaking levels
Must be able to dictate with clients, students, participants, co-workers, and supervisors using all means of communication including but not limited to, in-person, phone, and computer
Must be able to run and/or chase as needed
Must be able to type case files and other paperwork
Must be able to frequently drive to varying work environments including agency office, school based, community based including client homes in various communities
Must be able to lift children and infants of varying weights
When necessary, must be able to restrain clients of various heights with weights varying up to 300 pounds

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
Successful completion of United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX-USA)
Current Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; local state regulations and certifications, Continuing Medical Education (CME), and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations requirements must be met
Successful completion of an accredited Psychiatric residency program
Participation in further medical education and professional organization memberships are preferred
Experience and/or knowledge with Psychiatry for lifespan a plus
Must have a valid Ohio driver's license, safe driving record and proof of insurance required
Ability to take and pass a physical exam, tuberculosis test, and drug screening.
