POSITION: Psychiatrist- Addiction Treatment Center- Worcester, Westminster, Massachusetts area

High-end ADDICTION TREATMENT CENTER located in Massachusetts is seeking to hire a licensed Psychiatrist. In that role, you will deal with treatment methods for patients living drug and alcohol addiction using advanced training in addiction and substance abuse; prescribing medication in addition to counseling patients. You will address the underlying issues of addiction through individual therapy, group therapy, and other approved psychiatric methods.


M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited United States medical school

Successful completion of internship and residency in psychiatry specialty

About 3 to 5 years' experience managing patients with substance use disorder or addiction

Familiarity with medication assisted treatments

Valid and active state medical license, without any limitations on license to practice in specialty

Eligible to participate in the CMS Medicaid Medicare reimbursement programs

Valid and active DEA license with X waiver to prescribe buprenorphine

Knowledge of third party payer regulations, state practice guidelines and malpractice laws, HIPAA regulations, Bureau of Primary Health Care FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Care) program regulations

Experience or familiarity with electronic health records and patient data registry

Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency


Addresses the underlying issues of addiction through individual therapy, group therapy, and other approved psychiatric methods. Analyzes and evaluates patient data and test or examination findings to diagnose the nature and extent of mental disorder and or chemical dependency. Prescribes, directs, and administers psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, behavioral disorders and/or chemical dependency including inpatient detoxification. Collaborates with physicians, psychologists, counselors, social workers, psychiatric nurses and/or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress.

Designs individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments. Examines or conducts laboratory or diagnostic tests on patients to provide information on their general physical condition and mental disorder.

Reviews and evaluates treatment procedures and outcomes of other medical professionals. Prepares and submits case reports and summaries to the treatment center and mental health agencies as necessary and in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Gathers and maintains patient information and records, including social and medical history obtained from patients, relatives and other professionals. Counsels outpatients and other patients during office visits. Advises and informs treatment center professionals, relatives and significant others of patients' conditions and treatment.

Other duties as assigned by the Medical Director.

Community Healthlink (CHL) is looking for a Full-Time (37.5 hrs/wk) Clinician at our Worcester site. The MISSION Medication Assisted Treatment (MMAT) program offers buprenorphine and naltrexone medication assisted treatment and wraparound MISSION services provided by a multidisciplinary team. The MMAT Team will serve 60 individuals each year recovering from opioid addiction. The person in this role provides outpatient diagnostic evaluations and psychotherapeutic treatment services using the MISSION model with adults with an opioid addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions in individual and group therapy and provides outreach to clients in the community. Benefits: Compensation based on education and related work experience, licensure and other qualifications Health and Dental insurance (available upon starting) Generous paid sick, personal, holiday, and vacation time Work related travel reimbursement Life and Disability insurance 401k with agency contribution Flexible Spending Accounts available Wellness activity discounts Responsibilities * Attend all trainings required consistent with Bureau of Substance Addiction Services regulations * Attend all MISSION model trainings * Clinical services, case management, and community outreach with individuals with co-occurring substance addiction and mental health issues (CODs) who are homeless and/or at-risk for homelessness. * Conduct eligibility screenings and comprehensive intake and follow up assessments to assess eligibility, gather clinical information, and inform treatment planning * Carry a caseload of 15-20 clients at any given time * Deliver an evidence-based co-occurring disorder intervention and wraparound support * Build working relationships with agencies and organizations in support of clients' recovery to facilitate referrals and care coordination * Document service delivery activities according to program standards * Work closely with MMAT clinical team (Recovery Coach, Nurse, and Psychiatrist) to coordinate services * Facilitate group and individual sessions with clients consistent with the MMAT model * Limited outreach to client family members * Conduct outreach, in-home, and community visits to engage MISSION clients * Provide client transportation as needed * Utilize telehealth and technology in service delivery Qualifications * Ability to perform diagnostic and risk assessments using current accepted tools and practices to determine appropriate level of care. * Ability to develop and implement treatment plans which are behaviorally oriented, measurable, and appropriate for the identified level of care. * Ability and interest to learn and implement evidence-based models of treatment for opioid addiction Clinical expertise specific to adults with substance use conditions and co-occurring severe and persistent mental illness with an ability to engage clients effectively and work with other professionals and organizations. * Experience in the area of practice is desirable. * Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred. * Grade 7: Clinician III- Masters degree in social work, psychology, or related field required on a track toward licensure in Massachusetts; license (LCSW/LMHC/LMFT) preferred * Grade 8: Clinician IV- Masters degree in social work, psychology, or related field and LICSW or Licensed Psychologist required * Current valid US-issued driver's license and ability to provide registered, inspected and insured automobile for work-related purposes including transporting clients in your own vehicle and travel between work sites * Must be able to pass a CORI background check Community Healthlink is an Affirmative Action/ Equal Opportunity Employer.
