As an Inpatient Psych Tech, you will:

  • Assist in the observation, planning, intervention and evaluation of care to patients within assigned area

  • Ensure safety of patients and staff through constant monitoring of the milieu for potential safety hazards, reporting issues appropriately

  • Conduct metal detection and belongings searches

  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and create an environment that provides the best care and patient experience

  • Utilize verbal de-escalation skills as needed

  • Facilitate goal/activity groups

  • Keep the unit organized by notifying correct individual when supplies are low

  • Sanitize program utensils, toys and other containers/materials as needed

(Must be able to work days/evenings and every other weekend)

Requirements

  • Knowledge of mental health, generally gained through at least one year of experience with education or equivalent

  • Oriented and educated in gender, culture an age appropriate care

  • Ability to display a professional attitude in all aspects of performance

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products, as well as a fax and copier machine
