Merakey is seeking a Psychiatric Technician I to join our Behavioral Health division in Beaver Falls, PA.

Mandatory Minimum Education: High School diploma/GED

Work Experience: Minimum 6 months paid or volunteer experience in a related field, knowledge and understanding of severe mental illness, recovery principles and recovery driven service system.

The Psychiatric Technician I works with and adheres to the safety and welfare of all residents in the Residential Programs including mental, physical, spiritual and emotional health.

Position Specific Responsibilities:

Displays knowledge of and implements resident treatment plans. Participates in the treatment planning process as assigned.

Engage consumers in appropriate life skills to develop abilities to live as independently as possible.

Provide clear and accurate documentation.

Provide care and treatment in a manner that considers the rights, safety, comfort and overall therapeutic environment

Teach and promote various activities of daily living (money management, hygiene, time management, keeping a schedule, social and leisure activities, etc).

Assist in developing and implementing activities to increase skills in independent and community living, socialization/leisure time and to build on strengths to promote positive growth for the consumer.

Prepare all meals in accordance with the LTSR Resident Daily Schedule as needed.

Prepare grocery shopping lists through routine inventory.

Engage in proper cleaning and sanitation of work area and safe food handling techniques.

Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment according to standards set by Department of Health.

Adhere to the alternate outpatient payment structure to ensure residents receive the adequate level of care.

Perform other related duties as required
