The Psychiatric Support (PSS) Coordinator acts as liaison between patients, team members, physicians, ARNPs, other customers and administration. The PSS Coordinator will possess a clear understanding of the service delivery system in accordance with all regulations, statutory requirements and regional policies; in addition to performing direct care responsibilities. Please see below:

  • Weekly schedules of medical support staff

  • Create weekly schedules

  • Manage PTO to assure adequate coverage

  • Input all times in KRONOS to be ready for approval (time keeper)

  • Coordinate workflow processes

  • Recommend workflow processes that will improve efficiency, quality and safety to Clinical Director

  • Develop a standardized workflow practice among all medical support staff

  • Monitor workflow processes to assure they are being maintained

  • Coordinate with Systems Analyst

  • Receive error reports as well as other reports that indicate corrections to be made and facilitate these corrections with staff

  • Follow up with staff to assure corrections are made in timely manner

  • Work with manager and coordinator of other departments in making corrections

  • Coordinate with medical calls support staff

  • Follow up on client requests made through the medication line to ensure timely response by medical support staff

  • Staff Training

  • Ensure that staff are trained in Cerner

  • Monitor compliance to all regulatory training requirements

  • Facilitate the monthly medical support staff meeting

  • Chart Prep

  • Develop a system to identify the day before what needs to be completed in the client record for the next day's appointment, i.e., treatment plan, outcome measures, FARS/CFARS, etc and disseminate to medical support staff

  • Monitor completion of required forms for compliance

  • Rounding

  • Make rounds continually throughout the day to ascertain needs of medical support staff and medical providers

  • Monitor client flow to minimize wait times in waiting room

  • Utilize any available medical support staff to assist waiting clients

  • Patient concerns

  • Speak with clients who have complaints/concerns towards successful resolution

  • Facilitate successful resolution through coordination with medical support staff and medical providers

  • Coordination with CBH staff

  • Work closely with office support coordinator to address concerns experienced at front desk environment related to the client's medical appointment

  • Meet with Clinical Director as necessary

  • Meet with Medical Director as necessary

  • Attend the monthly Flow and Efficiency meeting

  • Make recommendations for changes in CBH policies regarding medical support staff

  • Revise Operating Procedures related to medical support staff as requested

  • Medical support staff oversight

  • Monitor compliance and appropriate professional behaviors at CBH

  • Conduct "coachings" to help staff improve deficiencies

  • Consult with Clinical Director on disciplinary actions beyond coaching, i.e., Written Counseling and higher

  • Facilitate Quarter Peer Reviews and submit in a timely manner

  • Assist in improvements in morale of medical support staff

  • Become an active member of the CBH Activities Council

  • Facilitate activities to enhance teamwork and promote more positive interactions with all CBH departments

  • Assist in client care activities during high census and low resource times

Experience

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: * Must have the authorization to work in this country without visa sponsorship. * Must be at least 21 years of age. * Must have a valid and unrestricted driver's license, and an acceptable driving record from the State Bureau of Motor Vehicles. * Must be able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently. * Must be able to tint paint, therefore, must have good color perception. * Must be able to operate a computer and communicate via the telephone.
