General Description:

The PRP Coordinator (COMAR-Rehabilitation Specialist) is responsible for daily operations of the program and maintaining compliance with county, state, federal regulations, and adherence to CARF standards. Schedule: Full time (40hrs/week). This person reports to the PRP Director.

Required Education, knowledge, and Skill Abilities to Perform Essential Job Functions:

A bachelor's degree with at least two (2) years of experience in mental health/psychiatric rehabilitation/special populations is required. Possess one of the following (per COMAR 10.63.03.09):

  • A licensed mental health professional

  • Certified by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification, or

  • Certified by the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association with a CPRP.

Proven leadership skills and supervisory experience are necessary. Ability to respect individual choice in the recovery process and a commitment to recovery through the psychiatric rehabilitation process is required. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to foster teamwork. A good driving record with less than two points is required.

Summary of Essential Functions, Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinate the authorization process, including Individual Service Plans, Behavioral Health Referrals and DLA-20 Assessments for submission to the Administrative Services Organization (ASO)

  • Assure conformance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Assure adherence to CARF standards.

  • Participate in PRP emergency on call rotation.

  • Function as liaison between internal and external service components.

  • Assist with overseeing daily day program operations.

  • Provide direct rehabilitation services to individuals as needed and document services.

  • Participate in staff hiring, development and training.

  • Supervising staff as assigned.

  • Participate in new hire orientation; to include training.

  • Conduct crisis intervention management and follow up.

  • Utilize computer systems for external/internal communication.

  • Perform other duties as requested by PRP Director
