A licensed and credentialed Nurse Practitioner (NP)provides diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and follow-up under the direction of 1 or more physicians in the clinic. The NP provides age and specialty appropriate medical care at the level of training achieved. As an expert professional, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership and patient care management across the health care continuum from preventative, acute care through discharge.

Master's degree in nursing required. Completion of an accredited educational program for nurse practitioners required..

Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with authorization by the Board of Registration in Nursing to practice in an expanded role.

Registered with the ANCC or other accrediting organization for Nurse Practitioners..

Registered with the State of Massachusetts and DEA for prescription writing privileges.

Current BLS and ACLS Certifications.

Minimum of three years of current clinical nursing experience and two years experience in adult practice required. Prior experience inrelated clinical practicepreferred.

Expert clinical judgment and ability to be self-directive and demonstrate initiative in an expanded role.

Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.

Demonstrated ability to apply principles of adult learning to provide effective patient and/or family education.

Organizational skills to set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work.

Effective interpersonal skills to facilitate communication with the various members of the health care team, patients and families.

Computer proficiency inclusive of the ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information required.

Physical ability to meet the core job responsibilities in accordance with the practice setting demands for the patient populations regularly served.

Medcor is currently looking for a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to work in their employer based clinic setting in Boston, MA. The work environment is in a Corporate Facility focusing on Primary Care and Wellness. The hours for this position are typically Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional schedule adjustments to Friday. The PA/NP for Medcor will provide excellent Advanced Practice care in an on-site clinic clinic. The position's responsibilities also include collaborative work with other medical and operational leadership at Medcor, other Medcor associates, and key contacts within the client's corporate structure. The day-to- day role of the PA/NP includes close cooperation with the on-site medical staff operating in the clinic and a focus on team care across the Medcor operation for this client. The clinic will provide a broad scope of services including the diagnosis and treatment of workers compensation injuries and illnesses, urgent care, surveillance and regulatory exams, and preventative services. This position will work closely with a Medcor employed oversight physician assigned to the site, as well as the clients health and wellness team. This position requires no weekend or on-call hours; however, with advanced notice, flexibility for additional hours is preferred, as requested by the client. A typical day in the life of a Medcor Provider: * Provide superior clinical care and customer service to Medcor's client and employees * Treat injuries and illnesses following Evidence Based Medicine standards * Collaborate with client professionals in health, safety and environmental practices * Collaborate with client human resources and benefits professionals on clinical issues * Support client's wellness and preventative programs * Document and manage information using state-of-the-art EMR and other tools You Must * Have a valid unrestricted MA licensure * Have current DEA & BLS certifications * Have a positive and outgoing personality, and be a collaborative team player * Be willing to go above and beyond to give excellent customer service * Have occupational health experience You Should * Be comfortable working in a worksite clinic environment * Be comfortable and productive working with computers and EMR software * Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills – with patients, clients and colleagues Benefits We don't just advocate for our clients and our patients; we also advocate for ourselves.
