Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Established in 1980, the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center, Inc. (GLFHC) is a multi-site, mission-driven, non-profit organization employing over 700 staff whose primary focus is providing the highest quality patient care to a culturally diverse population throughout the Merrimack Valley. Nationally recognized as a leader in community medicine (family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, and geriatrics), GLFHC has clinical sites throughout the service area and is the sponsoring organization for the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency program.

GLFHC is searching for a Clinical Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will function as a core member of an integrated care team that involves the patient, the patients' primary care provider, nursing, and community health workers.

This person will provide psychiatric consultation/assessments with patients, psychiatric consultation with medical staff, and short term interventions. Patients are referred via warm hand-off. Opportunity also exists to teach Family Medicine Residents from the Greater Lawrence Family Medicine Residency Program.

Position Details:

• Opportunity to teach psychopharmacology to residents in Family Medicine Residency training program.

• The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner works under the supervision of a consulting psychiatrist.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• A positive approach toward patient care.

• Current licensure in Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse in the advanced practice role in psychiatric nursing.

• DEA and DPH licensure for prescriptive practice.

• Experience helping adult individuals required.

• Experience helping children and adolescents preferred.

• Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred.
