Liberty Healthcare provides a wide array of mental health assessment, psychiatric treatment, crisis intervention, and aftercare services to people who have mental illness within the San Diego County jail system.

Service locations correspond with County jail facilities located in Vista, Santee, downtown San Diego and nearby Chula Vista.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners with Liberty Healthcare provide "outpatient" mental health services to adult inmates within the jails. This includes conducing mental health assessments, formulating diagnoses, prescribing and managing medications, and collaborating with Psychiatrists, Registered Nurses and ancillary clinicians.

Full-time and part-time positions periodically become available with Liberty Healthcare's group and we perpetually accept applications from Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners who are interested in forensic mental health and serving underserved individuals.

You're a good fit for Liberty's team if you are certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in California.

Supports the unit functions and maintains a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors and co-workers; functions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team and communicates pertinent patient information to the supervising RN. Performs some clerical duties as assigned and provides basic nursing care for the adult and geriatric patients. Performs responsibilities within the guidelines of the Nursing Structure Standards, Hospital/Nursing Policy and state regulatory and accrediting requirements.Mental Health Worker Outpatient: Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nursing, RN and the Program Director carries out activities of daily living program and individual treatment plans for the psychiatric patients. Qualifications Education and Work Experience Must have current and valid license as a Certified Nursing Assistant issued by the State if a CNA. If not a CNA, must have a minimum of one year experience working as Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting. Current BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current. Behavioral Violence Prevention within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually. One (1) year prior mental health experience preferred. Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.
