Job Purpose:

This is a dynamic role where you will have the opportunity to alternate between treating clients on the inpatient units at the Acute Care Campus, evaluating referrals in the WIC, and helping with Nurse Triage for AllHealth Network's outpatient team. You will be working with inpatient teams, admission teams and the outpatient clinical teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Inpatient:

  • Provide competent, quality psychiatric care to clients admitted to the AllHealth Network Acute Care Campus.

  • Ensure psychiatric services and follow-ups are completed within established timelines which includes seeing clients within 24 hours of their admission and daily thereafter.

  • Provide interventions and documentation to meet regulatory standards and/or contractual requirements within their scope of practice.

  • Work closely and collaborate in the team-based model including responding to calls and messages in a timely manner.

  • Provide consultation and coordination to clinical staff and nurses regarding the diagnosis, treatment and medications of clients on the unit or presenting in the walk-in center.

  • On discharge, refer assessment and treatment of clients' condition to outpatient providers.

  • Write all orders for discharges, transfers, changes in legal status, and prescribed medications as indicated, which may include bridging of medical medications as appropriate.

  • Collaborate when necessary with partner medical providers, BHOs, outpatient providers and insurance companies to provide appropriate continuity of care

  • Maintain current knowledge of psychopharmacology including medication interaction through ongoing collaboration and consultation with the psychiatrist

  • Ensure the Diagnosis is updated and consistent with the psychiatric evaluation for each client

  • Appropriately intervene when crisis occurs in collaboration with team, which may involve such actions as initiation of 27-65 measures including M1 holds and initiation of emergency medications.

  • Understand and follow policies and procedures regarding the use of seclusion and restraint, mental health holds, medications, grievance information and client rights.

Walk-in-Clinic

  • When inpatient census is low this role may transition to helping in the Walk-in-Center where duties may include:

  • Complete screening and assessments; when necessary, establish 27-65 mental health holds for clients requiring involuntary commitment

  • Conduct triage assessments and obtain collateral information to ensure that emergency interventions are considered in the context of the client's overall plan.

  • Navigate the treatment needs of the client and make referrals to internal and external resources as appropriate, aligning care outcomes.

  • Review documentation for referrals and determine clinical appropriateness for admission

  • Work with the Crisis Response Team and other treatment teams to track bed availability and efficiency of admissions

Nurse Triage Line Coverage:

  • Allhealth network outpatient nursing staff manage the nurse triage call line. The provider supporting in this role will receive requests from nursing regarding refills, bridge prescriptions and client questions on medications.

In all roles:

Follow all AllHealth Network policies and procedures:

  • Complete all required trainings as listed in Relias Learning (both online training and face-to-face training) within required timelines

  • On-call hours are required on a rotating schedule with other campus medical providers

  • Perform other duties as required within the scope of the position and the experience, education and ability of the employee, as assigned by Medical Director.

Key Technical Skills and Knowledge:

Education

  • Master's Degree (MSN/MS)

  • Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) or Master of Clinical Health Services (MCHS).

  • For NPs, Licensed in the State of Colorado as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (APN)

  • For Pas, Licensed in the State of Colorado as Physicians Assistant (PA)

  • Unrestricted DEA

Experience

  • Must have at least one year post-master's direct clinical experience with adult psychiatric clients in a medical/behavioral health setting

  • Must have experience working with psychiatric medications with both acute and chronically mentally ill clients.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Enjoy working in collaborative Team Based settings.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and clinical leadership skills

  • Decision-making ability, organizational skills and effective communication skills

  • Medical expertise, ability to establish effective consulting relationships and function collaboratively in multiple systems

Salary: $115,000 - $140,000 annually, $10k Sign On Bonus

Schedule: 7 days on and 7 days off

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the AllHealth Network salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, merit, and the ability to embody the AllHealth Network mission and values. The range listed is just one component of AllHealth Networks' total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives.
