What you bring to SBHG (qualifications):
Master's Degree in Nursing with a specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from an accredited university required.
Completion of an approved Adult, Child, or Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program.
Doctorate degree preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience with children ages six and older, as well as adults who present and are assessed with a mental health diagnosis.
Current certification to practice as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
Current certification as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, preferred.
Current DEA License for the furnishing of psychotropic medications.
Valid California Driver's License.
How you will make a difference (job overview):
In collaboration with a designated physician the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
(PMHNP) is responsible for providing outpatient psychiatric care, including intakes, assessments, and furnishing and providing medication management, following established standards and practices. The PMHNP will review and analyze participant records in order to furnish and evaluate the usage of psychotropic and other drugs and the quality and appropriateness of the care of mental health participants.

Peer Support & Independent Living Skills Development.
Intensive Case Management Support.
Individual/Family Counseling.
Mental Health & Medication Management Support.
