Psychiatric Emergency Clinician 3

Inova Integrated Behavioral Health Services is seeking a Psych Emergency Clinician 3 to join the team. The Psych Emergency Clinician 3 uses an integrated approach toward patient outcomes and maintains therapeutic milieu to provide safe environment for crisis stabilization.

Provides psychiatric consults to patients who present to the Emergency department onsite at Fairfax ER, via tele psych at other Inova ERs or Urgent Care facilities, or at IPAC walk in clinic.

Assesses needs and formulates collaborative treatment recommendations. This is a full-time rotating day shift onsite position.

Must have the ability to be on the on-call rotation. Job Responsibilities: Provides psychiatric/substance abuse consults to patients that present to the emergency room, Healthplexes, urgent care and or IPAC walk-in clinic.

Assesses needs and formulates collaborative treatment recommendations. Maintains therapeutic milieu to provide safe environment for crisis stabilization. Makes recommendations for the next level of care for patients.

Presents case to on call physician for admission. Participates in TDO hearings. Provides on call coverage on a rotation.

Provides supervision towards licensing. Manages central access work/bed flow and provides consultation on cases prior to escalating to AOC. Updates bed registry.

Updates capacity report, and all data spread sheets. Facilitates education on central access and TDO process to other departments. Ensures improvements in practice setting by assuming responsibility for self-development in lifelong learning.

Experience: Four (4) years’ experience working in the psychiatric or mental health field with the seriously mentally ill. Education:

Master’s Degree – Social Work (MSW) or Masters in Counseling. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.

Licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or LPC. Licensed in Virginia. Benefits and Perks:
