We are currently looking for Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist who currently has a Master's Degree preparation in psychiatric /mental health nursing to work in our outpatient mental health clinic in Whitman, Massachusetts.
The Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist provides psychopharmacology and psychotherapy services to clients throughout our Outpatient Counseling Center.
BAMSI's outpatient mental health clinic, Whitman Counseling Center, is licensed by the Department of Public Health and accredited by CARF. The center is committed to empowering people to achieve their full potential through a variety of therapeutic approaches. We provide services for children and adults who are experiencing difficulty in their lives due to psychiatric or emotional symptoms. Some examples of difficulties may include emotional turmoil, life crises, marital or family difficulties, substance abuse,(or dual diagnosis of mental illness and substance abuse), major mental illness, and recovery from abuse suffered in childhood, among others.
Psychiatric and substance abuse evaluations
Prescriptive writing and medication management
Consultation/psycho-education to clients and staff. (Flexible to provide phone consultation)
Facilitate hospitalization of clients in emergency situations
Maintain clinical records
Participate in on-call rotation
Clinical assessment and diagnosis
Individual, family, and couples therapy as well as facilitation of group treatment
Must have a Master's Degree prepartion is psychiatric/mental health nursing
Possession of certification under the American Nurse Credentialing Center
Possession of registration from the Massachusetts Board of Registry as an Advanced Practice Nurse
Possession of Massachusetts Food and Drug Administration
Possession of Federal Drug Enforcement Agency registration
Must engage in Continuing Education consistent with licensure regulations
