Provide technical assistance and coordination for the OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Plan for the facility. Specific areas of responsibility: schedule and facilitate Process Hazard Analysis and revalidations; ensure Process Safety Information (PSI) is effectively maintained for affected processes; oversight of Mechanical Integrity (MI) and Management of Change (MOC) programs; develop and conduct PSM training for key PSM disciplines and coordinate regulatory inspections and audits. Other areas of focus will include: promote and coordinate employee participation in PSM elements; administer action item tracking for associate PSM programs; champion new technology and design that will minimize chemical hazard risk and mitigate consequences of chemical hazard releases support in the identification and assessment of major hazards; provide guidance to the PSM Committee and implement PSM recommendations, procedures changes, etc.
Experience and Education
B.S. in Chemical Engineering, safety or related science, coupled with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably chemical facility.
Functional and Technical Skills
A technical background in manufacturing with excellent coordination abilities, knowledge of OSHA PSM Standards and EPA RMP (Risk Management Program) regulations, sound understanding of engineering principles of qualitative and quantitative risk analysis/assessment, interpersonal, verbal and written communications and presentation skills is required. It is desirable to have a significant background in process hazards studies.
