Responsibilities (Inculding but not limited to):

Supports Internal resources and manages external resources to prepare negotiating positions, permit applications and supporting material and submittals necessary for federal, state, regional , and local permits, licenses and approvals.

This position works as a team member providing permitting and regulatory guidance, expertise and strategies necessary for major construction projects Involving electric transmlsslon lines, distribution lines , sub stations and other utility Infrastructure. Provide s planning , oversight and direction of all land , wate r, municipal and construc tion permitting for these projects.

  • Provide planning, permitting schedules and cost estimate inputs in support of all air, land, water, and real estate contracted services to secure the regulatory approvals for new construction and modifications to existing facilities, as well a:1renewals of existing operating permits for a $200 million yearly capital program.

  • Oversees and assures completeness of applications in accordance with PSEG policies.

  • Advise and provide technical support, recommendations, alternatives and strategies to clients for their projects and business ventures.

  • Participate in meetings with local, state and federal agencies to fact-find and discuss environmental issues/permits.

  • Provide information in support of written comments and public testimony on regulatory proposals.

Required Educations, Knowledge and Experience:

  • B.S. in Engineering , Environmental Science. Other B.S. Science degrees may be considered.

  • Very strong verbal/written skills.

  • Ability to work with and positively influence teams.

  • Collaboration, negotiation and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of utility systems and regulatory background.

  • Understanding of information management systems and applications

Preferred education skills and expereince:

  • M.S. in Environmental, Engineering, Science, City and Regional Planning or equivalent.

  • Regulatory experience and/or utility experience.

  • Experience with regulatory agencies or agency personnel in land use environmental permit programs.

  • Experience with regulatory requirements of land use environmental and construction-related permitting.

  • Work experience in environmental consulting.

  • This position requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, applicants must possess a valid driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.

This is a multi-level growth series position, the title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process.

This position has a career path which provides for promotional opportunities within and across grades as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.

If an internal candidate is selected they will move laterally at their current grade level and will not be eligible for a promotion at the time of accepting this position. This applies to candidates moving within the same career path (e.g., analyst, supervisor, engineer), or to a different career path (e.g., analyst to engineer, supervisor to analyst). The selected candidate will have an opportunity to be promoted within the career path during an annual review

While the exact duration of the project is yet to be determined, we currently anticipate a period of 3-5 years based on business needs at the present time following which you will separate from the Company. It is important for you to understand that this period may be shortened based on business needs in the future at which point you will separate from the Company. It is also important for you to understand that this employment is of a limited duration and that you will not be entitled to separation benefits under any PSEG plan at the time you separate from the Company. Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 3 years of assignment.
