Leading and coordinating content development of provider network communications. You will develop and coordinate provider network education and orientation content and conduct training and orientation sessions for the Provider Relations team.


The Provider Relations team is highly collaborative and cohesive. We are a team that strives to provide the best services and most innovative curriculum to our external and internal audiences. A strong individual contributor who has a passion for training and creating curriculum for our providers and is excited to be one of the faces of our Provider Relations team to both internal and external audiences. A successful candidate will have strong communication skills and thrive in a deadline driven and fast paced environment. As our Provider Relations Communications and Education Specialist you must have a love for gathering information from multiple teams within our organization and know what questions to ask to continue to move your work forward to hit your deadlines. This is a new position for the organization and we are happy to have the opportunity located in either of our three counties.


  • Knowledge of:

  • Principles and practices of business communications content development and editing

  • Health care industry and the Medi-Cal program and/or managed care

  • Principles and practices of training materials development

  • Adult learning principles

  • Tools and techniques of training needs assessment and training evaluation

  • Ability to:

  • Identify issues, conduct research, analyze and interpret data, reach logical and sound conclusions, and makre recommendations for action

  • Interpret policies, procedures, regulations, standards, and guidelines

  • Write clearly, concisely and precisely and convey information to the intended audience in a manner that is easily understood

  • Proofread and edit content for style, tone, completeness and consistency

  • Develop education curriculum and materials in a variety of formats and apply adult learning principles to the design, development and maintenance of learning solutions

  • Plan and coordinate training, deliver training in a manner that fosters learning and engagement, and manage the training environment to ensure a quality learning experience

  • Analyze and translate complex systems and information into a comprehensible training content

  • Determine training needs and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs

  • Assist with the development and implementation of systems, programs, policies, and procedures

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, create project plans, organize work, identify and involve relevant stakeholders, and achieve goals and timelines

  • Facilitate meetings, foster effective working relationships, and build consensus with individuals at all levels internal and external to the organization

  • Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Training and Development, Healthcare or a related field

  • Minimum of three years (or a Master's degree and one year) of experience developing and coordinating education related communications which included a minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying
