What you will get to do:
The Provider Intake Specialist is responsible for triaging all communication, issue resolution and transaction requests that enter the Network Management division. This includes requests for Credentialing, Provider Demographics, Contract Processing, new Provider Inquiries and Entity level issues. Timely and correct triaging will be critical to the prompt providing of service to internal and external customers. The Intake Specialist will also be responsible for performing data entry duties to ensure that transaction requests are properly formatted to be processed through existing technology and workflows.
This position involves receiving communication from internal and external customers. It also requires a heavy emphasis on data entry and typing skills. It is important that the Intake Specialist fully understand the request types and can properly triage the issue to the correct area of Network Management or respond to the request with the proper point of contact if the inquiry should be routed to another department within Medica.
The Intake Specialist functions within a production environment and is expected to meet production and quality standards. At times they will be faced with shifting priorities, which will require the need for appropriate prioritization of work and adaption to change. This position involves providing feedback and suggestions to improve processes and/or the supporting documentation.
Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
Working knowledge of PC software (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook) required
CACTUS, COSMOS, COPIS or HealthRules database knowledge a plus
Healthcare and/or regulated industry experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to deal with customers and rapid changing environment required
