The Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP) Provider Enrollment Specialist in the provider enrollment unit interprets and applies federal and state requirements for determining the eligibility of and enrolling counties, health care providers, provider groups and other health care entities into Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP). The incumbent will report to the Unit Supervisor and team leads. This position may interact with the breadth of provider types and entities that give information relating to and/or verify provider credentials, e.g., Department of Commerce or may interact with the Attorney General's Office.
Interpret and apply federal and state requirements for determining the eligibility of and enrolling counties, health care providers, provider groups, and other health care entities into Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP).
Review and verify changed provider status information to determine continued provider eligibility. Determine when providers are ineligible in order to prevent the delivery of health care services to MHCP clients by a provider not eligible for reimbursement.
Enter and verify enrollment data into the MMIS II Provider File subsystem to ensure that accurate, updated enrollee information is available for claims processing and compliance reporting purposes.
As needed, make recommendations for modifications, changes and/or edits to the MMIS II subsystems, operations and/or procedures.
Two (2) years advanced administrative support, paraprofessional, or technical experience in a healthcare or social services setting.
Bachelor's Degree or higher in health care administration, business administration, social services or related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
