Job Summary (Summary of the basic functions of the position)

In this role, you will be responsible for fostering positive relationships with healthcare providers to enhance collaboration, streamline communication, and ultimately increase productivity levels. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of medical practices, and the ability to strategize and implement initiatives to support doctors in achieving their professional goals.

Duties and Responsibilities (Responsibilities necessary to accomplish job functions)

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to understand their needs, preferences, and challenges.

  • Provide support for doctors in addressing inquiries, providing support, and facilitating communication between healthcare providers and relevant departments within the broader organization.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, operations, finance, revenue cycle and administration, to develop targeted strategies and initiatives to support doctors in increasing productivity levels.

  • Coordinate educational opportunities, training sessions, and workshops to enhance doctors' skills, knowledge, and efficiency in delivering patient care.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and advancements in healthcare technology to provide doctors with relevant information and resources.

  • Analyze data and metrics related to doctor productivity, patient outcomes, and satisfaction levels to evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

  • Serve as an advocate for doctors in coordination with practice leaders within the organization, advocating for resources, support, and recognition to promote their success and well-being.

  • Act as a liaison between doctors and external stakeholders, such as insurance providers, referral networks, and community organizations, to facilitate seamless patient care and collaboration.

  • Represent the organization at networking events, conferences, and professional meetings to promote awareness of services, build relationships with healthcare providers, and identify opportunities for partnership and collaboration.

  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service.

  • Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization.

Patient Population Served

  • Team members will work with patients of all ages, races, and genders.

Education, Licensure & Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience.

Experience Requirements

  • Previous experience in healthcare administration, physician relations, or a related role.

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and regulations.

  • Previous medical office experience preferred; previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.

  • Interpersonal skills to support customer service, functional, and team mate support need

  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

  • Ability for basic to intermediate problem solving, including mathematics

  • Basic to intermediate computer operation

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Travel to other site locations may be necessary. Thus, those needing to travel for work must have access to dependable transportation, and driving record must meet company liability carrier standards

  • Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function

  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises team members on the Provider Engagement team.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
