What you will get to do:

The Provider Data Analyst, Senior is responsible for the development of accurate, comprehensive, and timely analytic solutions to support hospital, physician, and ancillary contracting, as well as various provider reimbursement innovation and benchmarking initiatives. The Provider Data Analyst, Senior will work with stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve provider contract model functionality, efficiency, and accuracy and have regular contact with business units to understand and gather report requirements.

The Provider Data Analyst, Senior will assist with design, coding, debugging, and documentation of programs. The Provider Data Analyst, Senior works closely with Provider Finance, Network Management, as well as other analyst, configuration and operation teams to deliver quality solutions in a timely fashion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • 5 years of experience working with health care claims data required

  • SQL required (Oracle preferred), SAS or R helpful

  • Professional experience in data and process management

  • Knowledge of claims systems and related claims payment methodologies

  • Extensive experience in reports and dashboards design and development and functional analysis are required

Skills/Abilities:

  • This person will need to be able to learn quickly, to work in a fast-paced team-driven environment, and to communicate well with business and technical personnel

  • Proven record of analytical project delivery at previous assignments

  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently

  • High level of persistence in "digging" for answers, with assistance in most cases

  • Open to trying new processes and new ways of doing things if the traditional method doesn't work

  • Ability to thrive in a highly reactive environment and capable of changing priorities quickly

  • Multitasking several projects and picking things up in the middle of the process

Initiates requests to providers for clinical updates, to determine case status and appropriate follow up timelines. Maintains data integrity within the LifeTrac systems, from both a clinical and a systems perspective, to identify incomplete or incorrect data elements. Performs analysis of referral related data in LifeTrac systems to support LifeTrac and its clients - on both a proactive and by-request basis. Makes recommendations to improve current processes and workflows related to referrals and the flow of information. Key Responsibilities: Relying on limited experience and knowledge, the LifeTrac Clinical Data Analyst is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments. These assignments are varied in nature. * Process incoming referrals and obtain additional information to make them complete. * Notify external parties and internal staff of new referrals or changes in referral status. * Perform follow up activities for referrals that are in a pre-transplant phase. * Work with Clinical to manage open referrals - with a focus on patient condition/status. * Work with Financial Systems Analyst to ensure proper and timely billing for referral events. * Understand and interpret the flow and impact of referral data from clients and internal staff. * Protect the database credibility by maintaining data correctness, routinely checking for errors, anomalies and duplications created by staff or clients. * Work with Business Data Analyst to maintain consistency and integrity of LifeTrac data. * Work with IT resources to maintain and improve LifeTrac systems and databases. * Provide data analysis and create reports and queries using any subset of LifeTrac data. * Use MS Office components to display, present or illustrate the results of data analysis. * Work with Clinical and other LifeTrac staff on client-specific projects. * Planning * * Follow work plans, established timelines, and pre-defined goals for assigned work. * Meet commitments on deadlines.Communication * * Communicate activities, results, and observations with employees and management as appropriate.Cost Management * * Identify areas for improvement in existing business practices. * Perform work thoroughly in a cost efficient manner and at a high productivity level.Business Controls and Policies * * Comply with all corporate policies and procedures. * Report any breakdowns in controls to management. * Conduct all activities in a safe manner. People Management * * No people management responsibility. * Position Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements: Education * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field or the equivalent education and/or experience.
