Job Summary: Performs ICD-10-CM and HCPCS/CPT-4 coding for complex visits, including a minimum of 3 Tier 1 specialties or 1Tier 2 specialties. Education

  • Required: Associate#s Degree in healthcare related field or provider based coding curriculum or in coding curriculum to include medical terminology, A#P, ICD-10, and coding guidelines. Education

  • Preferred: Bachelor#s Degree in healthcare related field. Experience

  • Required: 3 years of experience in coding experience in a multi-specialty environment. Experience

  • Preferred: 5 years of experience in coding experience in a multi-specialty environment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Required: Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology. Knowledge and understanding of provider based billing processes and workflows. Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology and disease processes. Skill in collecting and analyzing complex data. Proficient, functional use of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10CM) and HCPCS. Certifications

  • Required: CPC - Certified Professional Coder Upon Hire or CCS-P - Certified Coding Specialist-Physician based Upon Hire or RHIT

  • Registered Health Information Technician Upon Hire
