Proton Radiation Therapist| Oncology

Responsibilities

• Administer proton therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by the radiation oncologist
• Ensure accurate patient identification and treatment details
• Position patients using immobilization devices and specialized equipment
• Operate and monitor proton therapy machines during treatment
• Maintain detailed and accurate treatment records
• Collaborate closely with the radiation oncologist and other healthcare professionals to optimize treatment planning and delivery
• Educate patients and their families about the proton therapy process and potential side effects
• Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines for proton therapy
• Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure the highest standard of patient care

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in radiation therapy or a related field
• Certification as a Radiation Therapist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Valid and unrestricted state licensure as a Radiation Therapist
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in proton therapy, preferably in an oncology setting
• In-depth knowledge of proton therapy procedures and equipment
• Ability to accurately follow protocols and deliver precise treatments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to patient safety and providing compassionate care

Pay Rate: $2400-$2600@40hrs Weekly

Shift time:  8am- 5pm

Schedule Details: Monday- Friday

On-Call Requirements: None

Weekend Requirement: None

Holiday Requirement: Holidays not required: In the event of a holiday falls on scheduled workday, subsequent pay period will be reduced by holiday pay hours.

Floating requirement:  None

License /Certification: ARRT, radiation therapy, KS license, BLS

Experience required: 2 years – IBA/ProteusOne
