The Translational Sciences Group in Sanofi strives to generate scientific knowledge that translates into transformative therapies for patients with unmet medical needs. Translational Sciences is building a world-class multi-omics team that is passionate to contribute to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for patients. The Translational Sciences Proteomics team is seeking highly motivated proteomics senior scientist to join the multidisciplinary team to apply novel Mass spectrometry-based protein foot-printing tools in mapping protein-ligand interaction for the structural characterization of biologic molecules. The scientist with interest in advancing the field of proteomics applied to the molecular dissection of disease and disease therapeutics. The role will be within the Translational Sciences Proteomics group focused on a diverse therapeutic portfolio within rare disease, neurobiology, gene therapy, oncology and immunology.
Summary of key responsibilities:
Contribute to various drug discovery and development projects for a number of indications of interest to Sanofi.
Use the training, knowledge and expertise in the application of advanced approaches on a diverse set of biological samples to generate datasets to develop actionable hypotheses.
Contribute to and lead projects and develop analytical strategies for the identification of novel therapeutic targets, the discovery of predictive biomarkers for patients' stratification, and analysis of molecular data to assess drug discovery and development.
As a member of multidisciplinary team, apply novel Mass spectrometry-based protein foot-printing tools in mapping protein-ligand interaction for the structural characterization of biologic molecules.
Work in cross-functional teams to address analytical challenges associated with the characterization of large molecules in complex matrices, including epitope mapping, protein-protein interaction, protein conformation changes etc.
Responsible for the development and execution of highly complex method development and detailed structural characterization of biotherapeutics using mass spectrometry.
Integrate analytical results.
Work with other data-streams to enhance understanding of biomolecule and is expected to be open to learn new skills as needed to enhance team deliverables. The successful candidate should have a broad background in the biological sciences, strong hands-on biochemistry skills, and exposure to various bioanalytical methods.
Develop and apply innovative and creative computational approaches to understand complex disease conditions using multi-dimensional -omics and clinical data
Collaborate with other groups in Translational Sciences and Therapeutic Area partners and help the group champion projects from discovery to early clinical development.
Prepare publications, research and clinical/regulatory documentation in accordance with Sanofi quality standards.
PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, structural biology or a related field with a minimum of 3 years relevant research experience in an academic or biopharma setting
At least 2 years of experience with protein chemistry/biophysics, protein folding, protein stability and protein dynamics
Previous experience with hydrogen/deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS)
The ability to manage multiple projects in parallel, communicate clearly and effectively and build open and collaborative relationships
Strong interest in biology and caring for developing novel therapeutic intervention strategies for patients with unmet disease conditions, and an ability to liaise with scientists from multiple therapy areas to help define and address biological questions
Additional knowledge of other protein footprinting methodology
Previous experience with lipid membranes (vesicles and protein: ligand interactions), vector manipulation, and protein purification
Key strengths in data integration strategies as key to building and progressing pipeline for patients.
Ability to develop, benchmark and apply proteomics methodologies with advanced tools & current technologies
Knowledge of statistics and data analysis approaches
Strong experience with protein chemistry/biophysics, protein folding, protein stability and protein dynamics
Excellent communication skills
Established publication record
