As the Propulsion/Ordnance/Controls Engineer you will be responsible for design activities, including requirements allocation, concept evaluations, trade studies, layouts, preliminary solid modeling, analyses and mass properties, development of solid models in conjunction with the performance of all necessary analyses for these designs including materials evaluations, propulsion, and flight mechanics assessments. Support will also be provided to producibility studies, cost trades, design for long term operations and maintenance, and development planning activities.
Your duties will include responsibility for the design, manufacture, procurement and test for the propulsion system components and assemblies. This job requires coordinating with customers, suppliers, test facilities, and other related fields including manufacturing, subcontracts, quality, structure design, analysis, systems engineering, and integration with affected subsystems and facilities. Other duties may include,
Lead the conceptual development, requirements definition, and design of propulsion components
Develop product performance specifications, statements of work, and supplier data requirements for components
Independently review requirements, from various sources (instrumentation, dynamics, stress, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of assigned products.
Provide user documentation and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design review.
Typically has 9 - 14 years of professional experience.

Experience with 1st order analysis in fluids, statics and dynamics, heat transfer/ thermal
Knowledge of Requirement development and management
Experience with mechanical CAD modeling in CREO or equivalent
Solid understanding of mechanical and propulsion engineering principals including experience with Thrust Vector Control Systems and Attitude Control Systems
Experience mentoring junior engineers.
Interim DoD Secret clearance, therefore, U.S. Citizenship is required
