TriVector is seeking an Engineer to who will work both independently at times and in an integrated team performing engine systems and system engineering-related activities to enable the design, test, and operation of rocket engine at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).
Essential Job Functions
Support hot-fire testing of liquid rocket engines.
Review pre-test predictions and post-test data, conduct anomaly investigations, prepare and coordinate engine system and subsystem data review contents and presentations.
Coordinate, develop, and present technical materials related to engine system performance, testing and integration to support design milestone reviews and anomaly investigations.
Develop and execute engine system analysis models to support system test, vehicle integration, and design development activities.
Improve efficiency and effectiveness of the evaluation process.
Prepare reports and technical assessments in areas of liquid propulsion systems and performance.
Implement risk management processes.
Document and maintain test and data analysis processes in written work instructions.
Translate higher level requirements into lower level functional requirements and design options.
Conduct assessments to determine optimal and feasible design solutions.
A degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an ABET accredited institution is required.
At least 5 years of experience is required working systems engineering, project management processes, and\or launch vehicle subsystem operations.
Skills & Knowledge
Familiarity with liquid rocket engine propulsion systems.
Experience with the RS-25 (Space Shuttle Main Engine) and liquid rocket vehicle integration.
Experience with testing, data acquisition and data analyses and vehicle-engine integration..
Exhibited capability to plan and perform systems engineering and analysis tasks
Security clearance: U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
