Responsibilities-Writing responses to Requests for Proposals, Requests for Information, and other federal, state, or international government requests.-Creating compliant, compelling responses for assigned proposal sections/ topics and creating associated graphics, charts, tables, appendices, and other information in support of proposal development.-Serving as co-capture on individual proposal development efforts to lead the writing team and work with capture and business development teams to ensure compliant, on-time submission.-Reviewing and editing proposal responses for consistency, compliance, win theme incorporation, solution accuracy, and other elements during regular and core team review cycles in order to create the final proposal submission.-Researching relevant corporate, project, client, and industry statistics and data in support of creating proposal responses for all MAXIMUS lines of business, segments, and international entities.o Manages, perhaps through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing.o In some instances this manager may be responsible for a functional area and not have any subordinate employees.o Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.o Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.o Acts as advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve problems.o Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.o Frequently interacts with subordinate employees, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company.o Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.o Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.o Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies.o Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

The Technical Writer is responsible for developing/coordinating proposal responses with the Proposal Development Team and reports directly to the Manager, Solution Architect. The Technical Writer supports the development and production of multiple, concurrent proposals from diverse business areas such as the Department of State, Department of Defense and other agencies of the Federal Government; as well as other internal projects. A variety of banking functions that are critical to the daily financial operations of the company. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Lead and write entire sections or volumes in relevant subject matter area(s) * Early engagement with Capture Managers during Pre-RFP stage to assist with solution development and other capture support activities, where applicable * Assist with CONOP development support * Ensure CONOP aligns with RFP requirements and continuity through technical sections. * Assist in capturing the required elements needed to develop technically compliant and persuasive responses to solicitations * Participate in proposal reviews * Conduct research or internal fact-finding to find requested material relevant to subject matter area * Attend proposal startup meetings and participating in problem solving discussions * Review proposal documentation (RFP, RFQ, etc.) to ensure compliance with proposal technical and management requirements * Manage and maintain corporate knowledge management resources to support proposal development efforts, including a repository of reusable content relevant to the subject matter area to include corporate project summaries and employee resumes/bios. * Edit documents, manipulating text, and proofreading final products, ensuring the quality, stylistic consistency, and contextual integrity of each document produced * Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's Degree * 1-3 years of experience in technical writing or proposal writing * Experience in technical writing and proposal development for CONUS and OCONUS Government, NGO, and private industry contracts * Proficient in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) * Experience in interpreting Request for Proposal (RFP) from various Government agencies. * Must possess excellent reading comprehension, writing, spelling, communication, and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines and work well with others to prompt questions and obtain required information. * Ability to research, absorb and capture varied information; multitask and balance competing deadlines. * Ability to multi-task and work effectively -- both independently and in teams -- in a fast-paced, deadline intensive environment. * Self-starter able to take initiative and handle accountability for getting results. * Flexible to changing schedules, working overtime, working on weekends, and possibly traveling for long and short term assignments. * Must have an ability to obtain a US SECRET level clearance.
