Role Value Proposition:

Coordinates workflow and provides technical expertise in the creation of timely, accurate, thorough, professional, and fully-developed proposals, offering product expertise to sales in pursuit of business for employer groups with 5,000+ employees.

Candidates must demonstrate strong organizational, project management, writing and communication skills, and the ability to work on multiple complex proposals simultaneously. Previous experience in the employee benefits marketplace and/or knowledge of the proposal process required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides high quality, professional proposal packages to sales by delivering timely, accurate, well-worded, concise, thorough and fully developed responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

  • Provides focused and accurate case-specific responses for inclusion in proposal packages by accessing question and answer databases, conducting research with product and functional experts, and scripting responses to inquiries.

  • Contributes to the acquisition of new business by understanding sales strategies and providing proposal packages that support the strategies and client needs.

  • Provides superior service to customers, brokers, and sales by supporting the significant role that a timely and well packaged proposal response plays in making exchange sales.

  • Coordinates the preparation and delivery of information required from other internal areas to be used in proposal packages; ensure that delivery is timely and information provided is accurate and responsive to the customer needs.

  • Protects MetLife's legal position by making sure all information in proposal packages accurately reflects current capabilities and complies with legal and regulatory guidelines and requirements.

  • Monitors exchange workflow, assigns new cases, and balances staffing and proficiency levels within the proposal function; plays a proactive role in identifying unique staffing needs and putting plans in place to handle work volumes during peak production times.

  • Ensures proposal quality through assurance reviews; uses reviews to identify trends, training needs, and opportunities for improvement; provides input to management on skills and competencies of personnel.

  • Participates in training programs; engages in the development of procedures and guidelines to enhance the exchange RFP process and communicates these internally.

  • Engages with marketing, product and growth strategies to ensure proposal material and the database is accurate and up-to-date; works with marketing to maintain and update the database.

  • Provides critical resource support to the administrative units during peak seasons through involvement in interdisciplinary functions, including implementation of new business, account management, contract preparation and review, and underwriting.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

Essential Business Experience and

Technical Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3-5 years of relevant business experience
  • 3+ years of experience in proposal process management OR administration of group insurance products.

Customer Service Specialist III Aurora, IL Position Summary The Customer Service Specialist reports to the Customer Service Manager and has account management responsibilities, and is the single-point-of-contact for his/her assigned customers (either by geography and/or customer channel), to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved; and assist in achieving the company's set goals for revenue, profit, receivables, on-time and fill-rate, quality and safety. In addition this position is expected to identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency, quality and maintain a team environment. Description: This individual will be the front line to customers and will work with both internal and external customers, primarily over the phone and via email. Portraying a positive, professional, friendly and helpful company image is critical. This position has a variety of responsibilities required to manage their assigned customer's needs and expectations including, but not limited to: CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT – Includes but is not limited to * Single-Point-of-Contact to customer. Ensure your customer's needs and expectations are met. Follow through with requests. * Follow up with customers who haven't purchased within 3 months to understand why and take necessary actions to drive future ordering. * New customer set up assistance and introduction to HBF ORDER MANAGEMENT * Ensure orders are entered on-time, with accuracy and shipped on-time. * Review orders daily, and maintenance as needed. Orders should have accurate prices, terms, customer information, dates, item numbers, quantities, shipping instructions, etc. * Review orders daily to ensure we ship by the Ship Date, and orders are scheduled according to any weight requirements or specifications. Items in stock should be expedited through best possible means from one of our warehouses. Items that are out of stock should be prioritized/expedited appropriately, and customer contacted to advise them of estimated ship date. Orders on credit hold should be reviewed with the Credit department for release. Contact the customer to advise when orders cannot be released due to payment issues. Ensure there are no open orders for nonsaleable items and rush orders are processed properly. * Process Change Order Notices within 1 hour of receipt. * First attempt to resolve order discrepancies should be done same day order is entered. Daily verbal follow-up required until discrepancy is resolved. * If applicable process EDI orders and related documents for participating customers. Maintain EDI set-up data in prism and ensure your customers have the correct information required to transmit transactions accurately. PRICING * Maintain PPP's and assist Sales with getting pricing in place along with the pricing team. * Approved PPP pricing should be processed the same day as received. Those received after 3:00 pm may be processed the following day. CUSTOMER MASTER * Assist sales in creating new customers and maintain existing. Ensure customer's address information, contacts, terms, shipping requirements, regions, salespeople, etc., are entered and maintained accurately in Prism and Salesforce. Modify as necessary working with MDM based on information provided by the customer, Sales and/or the Credit department. DISPUTES * Investigate to understand the nature of the dispute and determine if the dispute should be honored. * Complete necessary documentation, process in Salesforce, properly research, obtain required authorization and support documents. * Process all stock affecting credit and debit request within the same fiscal month that we receive notification of the dispute. Process remaining credits and debits within 14 days from date received, or by month-end, whichever comes first. * Process RGA request claims within 3 business day of receipt. INQUIRIES * Respond to inquiries received by internal and external customers within 4 hours or by end of day, whichever is sooner. SERVICE, COMMUNICATION & TEAMWORK * Assist others in the department as needed to ensure work is completed on-time. * Improve service through continually meeting and interacting with our customers and other internal departments to maintain your knowledge of products, programs, customer's needs, new products, stock availability and the production plan. * Actively participate on teams. Contributing skills and appropriate knowledge to drive to solutions and results.
