Demonstrated Corporate Competencies
This will include directing and coordinating the proposal related activities to produce high-quality winning proposals. The Proposal Manager is responsible for working closely with the Program Manager and/or Business Development Manager to develop and articulate technical and management solutions for proposals, whitepapers, presentations, and other business materials.
Bachelor's degree and minimum of 9 years of related experience, OR, Master's degree and a minimum of 7 years of related experience.
Experience winning proposal efforts valued at $10M or more (working within the Defense field, preferred)
Experience with proposals and quotations for Government Contracts in compliance with the Federal Acquisition Relations (FAR)
Possess above average verbal and written communication skill
Demonstrate appropriate business acumen
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint)
Strong attention to detail and follow-up
Strong documentation and timeline management
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance, therefore you must be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance
Additional job Requirements:
Ability to work with little direction and handle multiple tasks
Engineering/technology degree and/or equivalent experience preferred
Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends as required
Experience with MS Office business applications
Proposal leadership skills, with the ability to build a strong team, effectively resolve conflict, and vector appropriate resources to maximize proposal development
Experience in keeping a team focused and moving toward developing a compliant, compelling, competitive - winning document
Experience in mentoring and coaching less experienced staff and senior operations staff
Ability to quickly conceptualize and write and/or edit compelling proposal narrative and oral presentation slides
Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Lead quotation and proposal efforts within the assigned accounts
Database management for initiation of Proposal/Quote Log-in and progress
Securing Subject Matter Expert inputs, including Contracts T&C review
Coordinating Pricing Meetings including securing internal approvals
Assembling the deliverable quotation package, including all required supporting data
Works with Management, Sales and Engineering to develop fully-compliant, highly-successful proposals in response to customer (commercial and Gvt) RFPs.
Report performance metrics for proposal progress
Providing on-time delivery of the proposal document per the instructions of the Proposal Lead
Working with team members to assemble RFP responses that meet contractual requirements in a logical fashion
This individual will be responsible for leading/mentoring less experienced proposal staff and proposal writers
Meet established deliverables and production deadlines (working with Proposal Coordinator if assigned)
Provide detailed guidance to proposal writers/contributors and subcontractors
Support and ensure proposal development processes are followed, standard style guide is used, and documents are submitted in accordance with established guidelines
Manage the collection and editing of proposal materials to ensure compliance
Communicate proposal-related requirements and status with senior management, as appropriate
Monitor and remaining current on all amendments and modifications to the solicitation
Position entails occasional exposure to typical manufacturing environment
Business office environment requiring use of telephone and personal computer

Work calmly and professionally under pressure and as needed in order to meet deadlines or Company commitments
