The position is preferably in Minneapolis, MN or Chicago, IL, but can be remote with the ability to travel to those locations as needed.

We're currently hiring for a Proposal Manager.

As a Proposal Manager, you will:

  • Develop, coordinate, and prepare responses to RFIs, RFPs, and custom proposals from potential customers.

  • Develop strong relationships with internal Subject Matter Experts and the sales team to determine overall response strategy.

  • Manage the proposal process as assigned by Growth leadership. Review and analyze requirements, develop and manage to a calendar, help guide strategy development, and act as the primary project manager.

  • In partnership with organizational SMEs and direction from the sales team, develop persuasive content that demonstrates to the client why they should select ICF Next.

  • Adapt answers to standard and non-standard questions to fit sales strategies and highlight our differentiators

  • Work closely with a presentation specialist to present the content in a compelling way.

  • Meet all deadlines for on-time quality delivery of RFI responses and proposals to customers

  • Provide proposal assistance, guidance, and advice to account teams managing their own RFP responses

  • Work with the knowledge management team to maintain proposal content database and proposal archive

  • Enforce approved style guidelines

  • Proactively engage in continuous improvement to hone the proposal development process

  • Perform other duties as assigned

As a Proposal Manager, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Liberal Arts, or English (or related)

  • 5+ years of commercial proposal management experience

  • A willingness to learn and adopt a new proposal process

  • Strong persuasive writing, editing skills, and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to lead without authority

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • The desire to work in a dynamic, team-oriented business development environment

  • Strong time management skills to adhere to often tight deadlines

  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint

  • Ability to foster relationships with professionals at various levels within the company

  • Highly organized.

  • Experience with the Shipley method of proposal development or with managing federal proposals a plus

  • Membership in APMP a plus

  • Experience using Microsoft Teams and/or SharePoint a plus

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Proposal Manager for our Chicago, Illinois; Detroit, Michigan; Indianapolis, Indiana; or our Kansas City, Missouri office, although we're open to any Central Region office location. Duties and Responsibilities: * Lead strategy development and persuasive, quality proposal documents across the Central Region that are responsive to Requests for Qualifications/Proposals (RFQ/Ps) for architecture and engineering professional services. The right candidate should be able to work with very limited oversight and drive the sales case/win strategy of their assigned pursuits. * Develop a win strategy in advance of an RFQ/P, write a proposal outline/compliance matrix and set a proposal production schedule upon receipt of the RFQ/P; communicate internal and external requirements with the pursuit team; write marketing sections (i.e. cover letter, executive summary, understanding, tailored resumes/bios) and edit technical sections to provide one-voice throughout the document; create proposal graphics and captions that tell a story and support the key messages; confirm requirements of the RFP are satisfied and at the end of the day, verify a complete, compliant document is created that communicates the win strategy. * Drive pre-positioning activities, including client engagement planning and capture planning/strategy development as the lead or a key member of the pursuit team. * Lead area marketing meetings in partnership with the technical area manager and maintain accurate data in the opportunity database. * Mentor junior staff in the proposal process and champion new ideas for the regional marketing team, demonstrating clear leadership and ability to motivate teams. * Work with a variety of computer software and desktop publishing programs while being accountable and responsible for meeting deadlines and following through on commitments. * The right candidate will be energetic, enthusiastic about the sales process, willing to learn, and must be able to work well under deadline pressure while juggling multiple deadlines and interacting professionally with company leadership, marketing staff and a diverse group of planning, engineering and other technical professionals.
