Proposal Lead - Oral & Special Delivery

Based in our Kansas City, MO facility, the Proposal Lead is responsible for project management of the Proposal process to ensure that all Quotations/proposals are produced in the most cost-effective and efficient manner while meeting the clients' requirements in terms of scope and being provided on time.

Position Summary

The Proposal Lead works closely with Business Development (Sales), Project Management and Operations. The Proposal Lead is responsible for project management of the Proposal process to ensure that all Proposals are delivered on-time in the most efficient manner while meeting the clients' requirements in terms of scope and deliverables.

The Proposal Lead reports to the Manager, Client Services, Sales & Marketing

Location: Kansas City, Missouri

In concert with Catalent's Patient First philosophy, this position is key in our efforts toward continuous improvement of our processes & information which will allow quality drug products to reach patients safely and efficiently.

The Role (daily responsibilities)

  • Leads the Proposal process and liaises with Project Management, Business Development, Clients, and Management/Key Stakeholders on the generation of, and pricing for, Proposals and quotations.

  • Participate in technical review meetings with potential clients to collect relevant information required to draft comprehensive proposals.

  • Prepare Program Summary Slide Decks to facilitate efficient communication of comprehensive proposals to relevant client stakeholders.

  • Facilitates communication between functional areas of the organization (ie. Business Development, Project Management, Operations, Quality, Finance, etc) to ensure on-time delivery of Proposals that are accurate and executable in terms of technical scope and meet costing / business margin targets

  • Maintain pricing templates, as well as dedicated customer pricing, as appropriate

  • Collaborate with other Catalent Business Units (e.g., DAS) to obtain related scopes of work and required pricing.

The Candidate (requirements)

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences (or equivalent) or business degree, or equivalent work experience.

  • 3-5 years related industry experience; Knowledge and experience in cGMP and FDA regulated working environments is required.

  • Understanding of, and/or personal experience in, the contract development / research, pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects, some complex where process/deliverable is non-standard.

  • Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in a client-facing role and excellent client-facing skills - drives to meet and exceed client expectations

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.

  • Proficient in problem-solving and strong mathematical abilities/finance skills.

  • Possess business acumen and analytical skills.

  • Results-oriented and highly driven.

  • Self-motivated and able to lead, follow-up and drive Quotations or projects to completion, with occasional support when needed.

  • Leads process improvement initiatives to support team objectives, as assigned.

  • Must be computer literate, and proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, etc. Experience of Customer Relationship Management tools is preferred.
