Responsibilities
Responsible for underwriting Excess & Surplus (E&S) Property business written via Atain Insurance issued to a nationwide wholesaler network.
Underwrite certain types of insurance that, due to size or complexity, are required by Atain to be written outside of binding authority facilities granted to agents; this will include evaluating, classifying and rating each risk to determine acceptability, coverage and pricing
Build and nurture relationships with brokers, agents and internal teams to drive business growth and retention
Mentor and train Assistant Underwriters
Collaborate with underwriting team and management to assess and price risks effectively while maintaining profitability targets
Manage aggregate reporting in CAT focused areas
Provide exceptional customer services by responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and delivering timely underwriting decisions
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in related work experience
Minimum 5 years of Property Excess and Surplus Lines underwriting experience at an E&S Carrier
Thorough knowledge of Property insurance products and managing CAT Aggregates
Self-starter with a demonstrated history of proactive performance
Detail-oriented service professional with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
Proven track record of building and managing relationships with brokers and agents.
