Hotel Weyanoke is actively seeking a Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated hospitality team, enhancing the experience for our guests and team members. Situated in Farmville, Virginia, Hotel Weyanoke is a top destination for travelers.

Our establishment boasts three distinctive dining venues: the acclaimed Taproot Tavern, Effingham offering coal-fired pizzas, and the exclusive Catbird Rooftop Lounge, the sole rooftop bar in Farmville. Conveniently positioned near Longwood University and Hampton Sydney University. Role: As a Property Maintenance Technician, you play a crucial role in ensuring the property and its systems operate effectively for our guests.

Our core values prioritize a safe work environment for both guests and team members. Proficiency in maintenance is essential. The ideal candidate should have expertise in room maintenance, electrical work, plumbing, drywall repair, painting, and grounds maintenance.

While familiarity with HVAC is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintains all grounds. Performs duties assigned by the Property Maintenance Manager Inspect buildings, equipment, and appliances for functionality, checking for faults and fixing them where they exist to keep all things running and functioning properly; also, make provision for replacement of old and damaged appliances Implement property maintenance policies and standards.

Ensure that properties are safe and void of any danger to our guests, visitors, and workers by putting away harmful objects and equipment, and putting in place machinery to handle emergencies, such as fire outbreaks; and create exit routes with proper direction for easy location during emergencies. Maintains all grounds. Work Environment:

Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, listen, utilize hand and fingers dexterity Frequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl Frequently required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds Frequent evening and weekend work required Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather) Frequently work near moving mechanical parts Frequently work in high, precarious places Frequently work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals Frequently exposure to outside weather conditions Frequently exposed to extreme heat or cold (non-weather) Qualifications: Must have night and weekend availability Combination of a High School Diploma and/or experience Language Skills Basic mathematical skills Problem solving and reasoning ability Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the Rooms Discipline and Hospitality Profession. This includes experiential knowledge for management of people and complex problems.
