Responsibilities
As a Property and General Liability Claims Supervisor, you'll lead, monitor, and support the activities of assigned Claim Professionals. Provides, guidance, and direction to Claim Professionals on assigned Commercial Property and General Liability claims, covering a wide range of complexity and exposure to ensure standards are consistently met. You'll report directly to the VP, Claims and assist with meeting/exceeding claim metrics, unit process improvement, and innovation.
We'll count on you to:
Assist with reviewing new losses and assign to the appropriate claim professional based on loss complexity and severity.
Maintain diary on all open claims that are handled by assigned claim staff to ensure reserve accuracy and adherence to claim guidelines.
Assist with technical direction and training to assigned claim staff to ele Save vate their knowledge and claim handling ability.
Maintain a modest portfolio of self-handled Commercial Property Claims with exposures generally greater than $200,000.
Assist with any day-to-day direction and feedback to service providers to achieve the best outcomes.
Assist with claim file audit reviews to ensure compliance with Claim Guidelines and service goals.
Work with VP, Claims on any projects and assignments focused on improving efficiency, results, quality, and customer service.
Assist in the review of management reports to identify trends that may require further improvement initiatives.
Ensure conformance to applicable laws and regulations while maintaining a high level of service.
Qualifications
What you need to have:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Insurance Industry professional designations are preferred (AIC, SCLA, CPCU, ARM etc.)
10+ years of commercial property and commercial general liability claims handling experience
3+ years in a senior claim professional position
3+ years of management experience
Demonstrated ability to coach and lead others
Expertise in policy construction and interpretation
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management
