Job Description

Position Summary:

Property Staff Accountant positions on the Vistana Management team who will work under the general supervision of the accounting manager or senior accountant. They will be responsible for maintaining the Resort and HOA (Home Owners Associations) general ledger accounts which includes ensuring revenues and expenses are posted accurately, preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring financial statements and reports are in compliance with internal and external policies. Position requires detail oriented individual who enjoys complex problem solving and researching analytical variances in a fast paced work environment. The expectation for a person in this position must be able to interpret standard GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act).


  • Reconcile property balance sheet accounts

  • Post JEs monthly to close several properties and associations

  • Prepare wire requests monthly for reserves reimbursements, HOA due to/from settlements, and other wires as the specific property requires

  • Act as direct contact with resort managers and operations team

  • Act as direct contact for HOA and resort audits, providing documentation as requested, and answering questions as relevant


Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and two to five years of related experience. Knowledge of Excel electronic spreadsheet applications is required along with attention to detail. Hotel/Resort/HOA experience is a plus.
