Property Accountant

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities: Perform monthly account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparations for assigned properties Analyze and maintain accurate records of rent rolls, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger accounts Prepare and review monthly financial reports, variance analyses, budget-to-actual comparisons, and CAM reconciliations Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies and address property accounting inquiries Ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal control procedures Assist with annual budget preparation and year-end audit processes for properties Process monthly bank reconciliations and handle daily cash management functions Maintain and update property accounting records within the Yardi property management system Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 2 years of experience in property accounting Proficient in Yardi property management software Strong knowledge of GAAP and property accounting principles Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines Our clientoffers a competitive compensation package and opportunities for professional growth.
