Our property management client is looking for a go-getting property accountant to join it's team. If you are a natural problem solver with a great understanding of accounting, this role is for you. You would be managing the accounting of two properties: one high rise and one low rise.

VIEW JOBS 11/10/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-08T00:00 Job Description Accounts Payable Accountant position is a detail-oriented individual with a minimum of 5 years Account Payable experience and is responsible for managing the timely processing of a variety of high volume transactions, including, employee expense reimbursements, trade vendors, and customer refunds. In addition, this role oversees adherence to internal controls by ensuring payments are properly approved and documented; issues are proactively researched and resolved; and payments are generated on a timely basis. The candidate must have knowledge of general accounting principles and be proficient at accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel). The applicant should display a positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and multitask. She/he should be a strong communicator, both written and oral, as the position requires frequent dealings with colleagues in other parts of the organization and vendors. Detailed Responsibilities: * Daily processing of various transactions including multi-currency, invoices, expense reports, customer refunds, and wire and/or check requests * Perform treasury support and other functions to ensure all bank accounts are adequately funded. * Ensure Concur is configured properly to ensure integrity for all requests for payment, including proper authorization and accurate account coding. * Perform match of PO, receiver and invoice and work closely with the departments on resolving invoice, purchase order and receiving issues. * Provide training on Concur for new users. * Audit and approve T&E reports weekly processed via Concur. * Troubleshoot all Concur workflow issues * Manage the reconciliation of vendor statements * Review invoices including Prepaid, Fixed Assets and IDS for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment * Prepare weekly batches for Corporate and several subsidiaries check runs, CHIP, Wire and ACH payment transactions. * Process weekly/monthly manual recording batches for month end closing of transactional payments. * Research and resolve variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons and/or departments. * Maintain Vendor 1099 information and required W9 and W8 forms for suppliers. * Assist Manger with annual 1099 IRS reporting process. * Coordinate with Accounting and SP&A team members to support the month-end closing process, meet the required financial close deadlines, and assist in resolving variances. * Prepare monthly Use and Sales Tax schedules. * Maintain accurate files, including required documentation and evidence of support for audit purposes, and in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices. * Assist with external and internal audits. * Prepare quarterly payments to Directors. * Determine Unclaimed Property and process Due Diligence Letters to property owners as required * Identify and implement new processes to streamline the purchase to pay work stream, including utilization of technology to automate disbursements * Perform tasks and assignments to be determined by management. Skills & Requirements * Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable * Associates or Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred * Strong research and analytical and multi-tasking skills * Strong working knowledge of applicable accounts payable financial systems and procedures * Familiar with foreign currency * Ability to prioritize work load in order to achieve objective under tight deadlines * Proficient in MS Word / Excel * Thrives on change and is willing to learn new skills * Ability to follow up on pending issues and communicate status to management * Consistently meets deadlines and proactively solves problems * Possess strong organizational, communications and time management skills * Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner * Ability to be an effective team player and display initiative * Strong work ethic, attention to detail and sense of ownership is required * Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner * Reliable and professional/positive attitude * Oracle and Concur experience is a plus Priceline.Com Norwalk CT
