If you're an experienced accountant with a knack for accuracy, Accountemps has a terrific opportunity for you to check out at an organization in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Mgt industry. The responsibilities of a Staff Accountant entail preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You'll also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will look over schedules for the reporting processes, participate in compliance, and keep in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A good deal of time in this position will be spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Your responsibilities

  • Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision

  • Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

  • Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

  • Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process

  • Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP - Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management

  • Take part in various department-wide initiatives

  • Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Requirements

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • Yardi experience

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Proficient in ERP systems

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
