About the job:
This position will assist the Executive Director and agency with a variety of projects that require skill levels in problem solving, customer service, project management, written and verbal communications, strategic planning, and the ability to produce and manage standard operating procedures.
A day in the life:
This position will be responsible for a variety of important management and administrative functions including:
Assisting the Executive Director with leadership on projects or issues by producing long-term resolutions, clarifications and/or positive results through implementation of Standard Operating Procedures; suggesting and facilitating effective operative strategies to resolve problems or inefficiencies.
Helping to produce and implement short and long-term strategies in departments of direct responsibility.
Management of the Visitor Center and the Visitor Center employees (Receptionists).
Oversight of the Parking facilities and Parking Management company.
Supporting the WRSP Events team with events management and in Community Outreach.
Supporting the Marketing and Social Media team to help market WRSP and event rentals.
Respective duties include:
Decision making and management of agency in the absence of Executive Director.
Attend necessary meetings in the Executive Directors absence or unavailability.
Work directly with Executive Director on strategies for effectiveness in areas of conflict or inefficiencies.
Direct liaison with the Parking Management Team and the Attractions regarding parking, to solve problems, issues, and complaints, and update necessary procedures.
Oversee and manage the WRSP Visitor Center including employees and inventory profitability.
Work with Events and Marketing to implement plans for marketing of WRSP as a venue for events.
Develops and implements creative ideas, to increase awareness to and interest in WRSP, as approved.
This position will help the Events team during the busy season, but the Events coordination will account for 30% of the job at a maximum. We currently have an Assistant Manager of Events (Courtney Johnson) and a full time Events Coordinator (Clayton McKinley).
Coordinates with Events team to market paid and not-for-profit events, as needed.
Helps Executive Director and Events team in Community Outreach.
What we are looking for:
Position must have a marketing, events, and or business degree and the ability to perform the essential duties as required, which include, but are not limited to:
Ability to understand relational needs of the agency, and implement and improve processes, as needed.
Ability to understand marketing needs of the agency, and implement and improve processes, as needed
Working knowledge of the development and implementation of managerial and administrative strategies to achieve organizational goals to increase effective communications, positive customer and employee relations, and efficiencies.
Working knowledge of marketing and event management to increase outside communications, customer satisfaction, and awareness and interest of WRSP.
High level computer software skills and social media, with a working knowledge of online communications.
Ability to organize and manage programs and projects of the agency, as needed.
Ability to organize meetings and coordinate plans.
Skills to advise, schedule, develop solutions and strategies to short and long term issues, problems or inefficiencies.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
Willingness to solicit feedback to improve and or build on WRSP service, events and Attractions. Ability to take feedback and offer suggestions on improving WRSP.
Capability and willingness to support Events and Community Outreach team, as directed or needed.
Works within an approved budget; and develops plans that will meet budget or improve through cost saving measures.
Must be trustworthy and have the ability to keep confidential information.
