Physical Demands:

Continuous lifting of 25-60 lbs; Occasional lifting of 60 lbs. Must be able to stand, walk and/or lift repetitively during shift.

Must be able to frequently lift in unsupported positions as well as bend, twist/turn, reach, push/pull. May be exposed to high noise levels, heat, dust and airborne particles. Vision acceptable to determine proper welds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Must be able to operate resistance-welding equipment to fabricate parts according to print specifications.

Must be able to set-up welding machine.

Must be able to run an automated piece of equipment independently.

Must be able to change out dies in an automated piece of equipment.

Must be able to troubleshoot sequencing error on an automated piece of equipment.

Must be able to perform routine maintenance on machine.

Must be able to fill out daily production report detailing what was produced for that day.

Must be able to identify and label parts produced.

Must be able to interpret measurement devices such as a tape measure.

Must be able to perform quality checks which includes but not limited to material destructive testing.

Must be to perform our duties in the work center as directed by supervision.

Maintain good housekeeping in work area.

Observe all departmental safety requirements.

Maintain quality standards according to specifications.

Inspect units or parts for defects and workmanship.

Work from written or verbal orders.

Practice and support Rheem values with internal as well as external customers.

Perform other related duties as required by supervisor.

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma/GED

Background/Experience:

Must be able to add, subtract, divide and multiply whole numbers.

Position Summary To weld using Stud Welding (SW) and Resistance Welding (RW) machines for the purpose of manufacturing STERIS® product. Duties * Set-up and operate SW and RW equipment using prescribed methods and procedures to weld parts within acceptable tolerances and standards. * Ability to build weldments through manual layout process, when required. * Read and interpret STERIS® welding blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) including standard welding symbols, travelers, and other working documents. * Use required measuring instruments and gages to check and ensure parts meet dimensional requirements. * Communicate clearly, both verbally and written, with Engineers, Quality personnel, supervisors, and fellow team employees. * Complete all projects, assignments, and duties as directed and instructed by the area supervisor. * Take responsibility for the quality of all parts by inspecting and immediately reporting any problems, discrepancies/or irregularities to the supervisor. * Follow 5S methodology to keep machines and work area clean, neat and orderly on a daily basis. * Assist in training other employees in the welding department. * Remain safety conscious at all times, wearing all prescribed personal protective equipment and by observing all safety rules stated in the Employee Handbook. * Complete any and all projects, assignments and duties as directed and instructed. * Conform to all policies, procedures and rules of conduct. * Ability to perform duties with minimal or no supervision if needed. Education Degree * High School Diploma or GED Required Experience * Minimum two years experience ferrous and non-ferrous metals. * Must be able to demonstrate ability to use a stud welder. * Must be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, including all standard welding symbols. * Must be able to use precision measuring instruments and gages. * Must be capable of lifting 40 pounds without assistance. * Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and members of the leadership team. * Assist with training other operators. * Ability to make decisions and stay quality focused * Ability to understand and follow work instructions, both written and oral. * Ability to adapt to conditions as dictated by business requirements. * Ability to work with others. * Willingness to work overtime, if required.
